CIA Asked Britain To Drop Iraq Claim

The CIA tried unsuccessfully in early September 2002 to persuade the British government to drop from an official intelligence paper a reference to Iraqi attempts to buy uranium in Africa that President Bush included in his State of the Union address four months later, senior Bush administration officials said yesterday.

"We consulted about the paper and recommended against using that material," a senior administration official familiar with the intelligence program said. The British government rejected the U.S. suggestion, saying it had separate intelligence unavailable to the United States.

Pincus salivating probably shorted out his keyboard, as he avidly repeats what the CIA unnamed source, named George Tenet,told him.

The disloyal Tenet, and the Washington Post are not including in this self-serving hit piece on George Bush, that the CIA signed off on the final draft of the State of the Union speech.

President Bush should have asked for Tenet's resignation long ago...a mistake he's paying for now.

Bush has beaten the Dims so often at their game of Gotcha, that I have to believe he's holding some aces here.
He usually lets them go nuts and get everyone believing Bush is in trouble, even scaring some of us that there's big trouble. Then suddenly he blows them out of the water.
I have to believe that's what going on here with all this WMD fuss.

The answer to all this is simple: Just let it be known that at the time all of this Iraq intelligence was being discussed in the White House, the President was being "serviced" by a young staffer.

Then it could be "all about sex" and the Democrats would slink away quietly.

I'm not so hasty to rush to judgment, but I cannot figure out why Tenet isn't being asked some important questions. Where is he?

That's exactly what's gonna happen, the Document from Nigeria was forged, but the intel was correct.

I don't think this issue is a big deal at all. It's one sentance in a huge collection of threats.
I'd like to see the left hang themselves with this. America wanted Saddam gone, and the left is on the wrong side - again.
Right now , they have their propaganda films ready to roll. Their "mean-spirited, vicious attacks" will be hitting the airwaves soon. They've already signed the contract with Satan to sell their souls.
If a woman ran into the police station today with claims she was rapped by Bill Clinton, it would be believable. No one would question her. He's done it before, so no red flags would pop up.
The same goes for the uranium story. Iraq bought uranium from Africa in the 80's. When the report from British intel said he was trying again, no red flags went up. He had done it before, and the threat to his power was greater than ever before. Considering the threat to national security, I'd take it seriously, too.
I'm sure it was just another Socialist set up, but instead of Blaming Bush for anothers misdeeds, why not go after the one falsafying the report?
We've found the centrafuge, the nuke lab, and the plans for the atom bomb was buried under a rose bush by one of Saddams scientists. We haven't found the uranium he already has yet. It could be under miles if sand. America needs to be patient. The left wing and the U.N. made sure they held the war off long enough to protect Saddam. If it takes years to find the WMD, Bush cannot be blamed for our nations left wings mistakes. We'll eventually find that needle hidden in the haystack once the fear of Saddam has been eliminated from the hearts of the Iraqi people. The left may have saved the butcher for a little while, but the cream always come to the top.

It's part of their fantacy world. There's some really dumb people in this country who actually pay attention to their stories. Newspapers should put the words "fact" or "fiction" on the top of their articles so people know.
