I hate to tell the guy this but I'm a very very white girl and no further up the ladder than any of my black neighbors. Of course, I'm just across the street from ghettoland and our apartments are borderline ghetto. According to the sign out front, we live in the cripts(sp?) territory. (for those who don't know much about gangs, the cripts are always fighting with the bloods, which is a rival gang, and it occationally involves shootings.) So where are my white priviledges? I need them. Most of the black guys in my neighborhood even have nicer cars than ours. BTW, Why are we called crackers? Weren't the people that were called crackers back in slave days the ones who were too poor to own slaves?

Here’s the problem that Derrick has: he has a slave mentality. A free man does not depend on others for their happiness or well-being. A free man does not care about apologies, reparations or getting even. Derrick, like all who are slaves, is dependent on a white man to make him happy – to fill some void in his own soul. My ancestors came to America in the late 1800s, after the Civil war. I suppose 6000 years ago or so, I may be related distantly to someone who owned a slave in Europe, but It's been at least 1000 years and more likely much much longer. What's the statute of limitations on the sins of the great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great, great(repeat another 500+ times) grandfather anyway?
