ONE WAY to approach the same-sex marriage debate is to think about something else entirely. So let's talk about welfare.
In the 1960s, welfare spending soared. Tens of billions of dollars were spent to provide the poor with cash aid, social services, food, and housing. Eligibility rules varied, but in general the bar was low: Welfare recipients did not have to be employed or married to qualify for the dole. They only had to be very low-income, with children to take care of.

I don't even see why any of us should be considering gay marriage. It's totally out of the question.
Even if anybody votes to legalize it...it will still never be true marriage in my eyes, in reality or in God's eyes.
The idea that it is even the subject of debate shows how out of touch people have become.

We'll need to find another planet if homosexual marriage is ever sanctioned or merely "made legal."

It's a miracle that none of Jeff Jacoby's at the Boston Globe have murdered him yet.

MARRIAGE: But from the beginning of the creation, 'God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife, and the two shall be one flesh.' So then they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder."
Satan always counterfeits and perverts God's design. How long will it be before packs of sodomites will roam the streets of America at night? They will smash down your doors, drag off your sons and violate them.

Again I pose the obvious question, "Why do Gays immediately think their marriages entitle them to something more, e.g., tax breaks, insurance benefits, etc.?"
While they are free to live toghether, even corrupt the church and obtain marriages through democrat party clout, no one ever implied that this was about redistribution of wealth:)

This post is on the money in many respects, but the one thing missing is the machismo culture brought into this society by the Hispanic immigrants.
"Social behavior changes when society's expectations and values change." That's true, but it's not the only way social behavior changes.
Gays push the envelope in white Anglo society, and for the most part white Anglo society backs off for fear of being called racist, hopmophobe, etc. Hispanic culture is a bit different - more earthy.
Whether we like it or not the immigrants pouring over our southern border are effecting changes in American society. Hispanics, by and large, have a strong sense of family, marriage, and machismo. And, they are particularly defensive of their children.
At the moment gays and hispanics co-exist on city streets all over this nation, and especially in the cities of California. But, since gays don't breed, and hispanics do at what point will the impingement of gay culture and hispanic culture take place?
IMHO gay marriage would be an affront to God and man, but politicians both elected and unelected want to try their hand at social engineering and middle America has little to say about it. There will be consequenses. Gay culture is incompatible with a testosterone laden machismo culture, and as American society changes openly gay couples will find themselves more and more in harm's way.

Still, if you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance for survival. There may be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves.

Look Jorge, it's time the Republicans start being the compassionate conservatives we always claim to be. Lets open our arms to the homosexuals, and the poor illegal aliens too. Lets put this homophobia and racism behind us. Besides we can use all the votes and live up to our compassionate conservative cause and ideals. Lets do it for the party and our country!

Down here in south Texas, we don't call them machismo, we call them Macho man.Yes, these are married men that commit adultry continually. The wife usuallly knows this but denies it and won't even question him as that is part of their culture. This is very common here. Yes, you will see the whole family in church on Sundays.

Not the source. Boston, the epicenter of the Courts imposing homosexual marriage.
Everyone push for the FMA.
This article is to provide cover for the Mass supreme court.
