NEW YORK - MSNBC on Monday fired Michael Savage for anti-gay comments.
The popular radio talk show host who did a weekend TV show for the cable channel referred to an unidentified caller to his show Saturday as a "sodomite" and said he should "get AIDS and die."

"Too bad he still has a radio show."
Hell, Mike Malloy (uber-leftist) still has his radio show in Atlanta, and he's about as hateful a person as you can find. I've heard many talk show hosts over the years, in a wide range of markets. None of them were as full of hate as Mike Malloy. He was so far to the left, even Chicago had to get rid of him (now, that's saying something!).

Where did you get this interpretation of the Bible? What 'interpretation'?
I merely cut and pasted..........

Sounds like it was a homosexual troll who had just given his program the equivalent of a Howard Stern fan's "Baba-booey". The comments were canned (there is probably a 7 second delay like on radio).
The homosexual crowd have been after his program for awhile. They same people who were proud to keep Dr. Laura off of tv (including such "free speech advocates" as Susan Sarandon) were unsuccessful in keeping Michael Savage from taking to tv.
His mistake here was in sinking down to their level.

It amazes me how you, and many others do a downer on a guy who speaks his mind. Free Speech it was once called, and now that your GOP is pandering to the gays for 2004 votes, you blindly follow like a little puppy dog. Just remember my pacifist friends... Your daddy's, if they are passed, are giving you a swift kick in the ass. They did not tolerate the sodomites back in their day, so why the hell are you? This is a conservative forum. The conservatives I am(or used to be) familiar with are guided by the good book. So why do accept homosexuality? Or are you just pretending to be religiously pricipled? Doing the job, saying the message that the millions are unwilling to do. But those softies will hop on the wagon with you after the work is done. Sounds familiar, huh? Keep the replies coming here.

"Oh, you're one of the sodomites," Savage said. "You should only get AIDS and die, you pig. How's that? Why don't you see if you can sue me, you pig. You got nothing better than to put me down, you piece of garbage. You have got nothing to do today, go eat a sausage and choke on it." At first blush, this looks like a mistake on Savage's part. In fact, though, I think it was probably his only hope. I saw his show once and he really doesn't seem to have much going for him when it comes to being a TV personality.

Well.. I did highlight the 'important' stuff, because SOME folks can't read entire ideas in context..........

So, MSNBC can't handle a little diversity of thought, huh?
I didn't think so.
If Savage would have played nicey-nice with the homos everything would be just peachy for MSNBC, eh?

I do not listen to him much, and only seen his show I think twice. My argument is on the "I hope you get aids and die" comment all these casual attitudes are crying about. It is just talk. And if folks don't like it, they can turn it off. But they choose to join the cheer leading team in silencing someone.
If One has to choose one day, let a homo die, or let a Christian die, I bet they all will have a problem...

He's become someone that when I hear him described as conservative I cringe. He underscores the stereotype that we're bigots. His manner of delivering his message undermines his credibility. I'm no fan of Bill O'Reilly either.
I find that Mike typifies the type of talk show host who replaced the local talent at Clear Channel's talk radio station in Houston. A lot of loud yacking that gives people a false impression of conservatism.
The CC management made it clear that they wanted no talk of religion and less political activism.
The local talent picked up a sister station that Clear Channel was forced to jetison because of ownership laws.
Bill O'Rielly is on this independent station (as is Laura Schlesinger). I still preferred the local hosts (including Apollo astronaut Walt Cunningham) who have less airtime now.

What freaking difference does it make what he wishes? He was just telling the sodomite what was going to happen to him if he kept it up. Remember almost all of the male homosexuals you hear in the media will be dead before they are 45. There aren't a lot of old fags in the world. That's the devils bargain they take. The only sympathy I have is that most of them were probably brought in by a pederast. And I don't have much sympathy there because they had the free will to walk away from it.

Well, I dunno..... missed the show Saturday (would have taped it if I had known it was going to be the last one) but this outburst is nothing unusual for Savage..... any of his regular radio listeners has heard this before. Methinks MSNBC was looking for an out.
Oh well, back to the Doctor on the radio! As for GLAAD - phooey!

This is somewhat on the same topic, re: media and the way hate is perceived... Here's a film review by Salon.com's Charles Taylor... Talk about hate...

Of course, Savage IS here to stay. He's a force my friends, and it is pretty shameful the way that conservatives are sissies about the guy. I'd bet, in six months, he's completely off the air.
With his paranoia, he'll do or say something that will likely cause his syndicators to pull the plug.
Savage has been in a meltdown for the last month.

BEcause that's what happens to wienie eaters. You don't find very many old pillow-biters, my friend.

"The idea of Conservatives denouncing him, makes no sense whatsoever. One can recognize his vices and still respect him as an overall asset."This incident reminds me that had George S. Patton lived today, he'd have been arrested already for hate-speech and institutionalize "intolerance"...
IMO it's NOT "conservatives" who by and large want to lynch Savage, but stealth liberals, and political transvestites from the 'Jack Kemp School of RINO Compassion and Subjugation' -- I see a few at this very thread.
Savage never takes any prisoners, but this time he did get a bit carried away -- something Liberals are excused for every single day.
And whereas admittedly no one will ever confuse Savage with being a choir-boy -- not in the least the execs of MSNBC -- he remains a valuable asset in battling our ideological foes in what indeed is -- A CULTURE WAR.

Looking at the comments on this thread it seems Savage polarizes people. There's more good than bad in what he says however. MSNBC considers these comments overboard but I don't. They can go pi** up a rope!
