LONDON: Any man lucky enough to get married to America's future first female president could be designated "first mate" Hillary Clinton has said, in what is being seen as a likely and memorable job description for Bill Clinton, come 2008. But the aspirational words, casually tossed off here and set to reverberate around the world, may be only the second of Hillary's most newsworthy achievements as she plugs her newly-published, bestselling memoirs in the UK .
She has already outsigned former rival Monica Lewinsky in the space of just a few hours in London , by autographing more books for more adoring fans to buy and keep.
Four years ago, Lewinsky set something of a London book-signing record with 'Monica's Story', her juicy revelations on the Oval Office trysts. Signing an average of eight books per minute at Harrods, the venerable, posh London store, Bill Clinton's former playmate was forced to retire in tears.
But the former White House intern has been put in the shade by the admirably-composed, networked and plugged-in former first lady, who has been vowing the UK and promising to sign 700 books in 90 minutes.
Hillary's memoirs, Living History , have already set a record as the fastest-selling non-fiction book ever, with Britain accounting for its second-biggest sales after the US .
Her UK triumphs come even as she made an exaggerated plea for Bill and herself to "reclaim the zone of privacy".
On Thursday, fans in central London queued for up to five hours outside a leading bookstore, simply for the pleasure of seeing "a future US president".
Hillary's British successes come as the Clinton team works its way all this week into ecstatic column inches across the British press. Just days ago, the former president, partnered British Prime Minister Tony Blair and Nelson Mandela at a landmark London dinner marking the centenary of the Rhodes scholarships. As his wife recounts in her memoirs, Bill, a former Rhodes Scholar himself, left Oxford without a degree, only to return to the US looking like a Viking.
On Friday, Hillary took to the British airwaves to relive her "pain" and sorrow at Bill's semi-romance with Lewinsky, recalling how she underwent a period of not speaking to him.
All that ended, however, she recounted, when she helped Bill write an important speech, as always.

Since the Clinton's deposited "seamen" in the Oval Office it is only fitting that they bring aboard the "First Mate".

I'm trying not to get to worked up about this because it is a long way off. However, I think she will smash her demoncratic challengers yet lose decisively against whomever the pubs nominate. There are enough people who unconditionally hate her that I don't think she has a chance. That being said, 1992 still gives me heartburn. And as everyone knows, 2008 is an eternity in politics.

Well ... just in case you all haven't heard, while Hitlery was signing books, Sid Vicious was over meeting with Tony Blair. It seems Sid was there to deliver a message that it would be best for Tony to drop his allegience to Bush. According to Sid, the next few months were going to be contentious and Tony would want to be on the right side.
Ann Coulter was right in "Treason" - because here was a UNITED STATES CITIZEN in a foreign country, telling the leader of a foreign country that he (Tony) should BETRAY HIS (Sid's) PRESIDENT.

Bill Clinton does like mating alright, but didn't he already do that in the White House? Surely he wants to move on to other places now for his mile high club aspirations.

I didn't see the actual quote either.
Fastest selling book ever is it? How come it isn't on the top of every best seller list then?
Why do they pretend Hillary is signing books as people bring them to her?
Everything that surrounds Her Heinous is a lie.
