Dear DO---please read the article more thoroughly. The Canadian border beefing up is in addition to, not instead of, stemming the flow of illegals into the country from the south.
Not pathetic, but right on.
And please note the focus on airports where illegals are turning for transportation. Fox showed Sky Harbor in Phoenix with agents there. They even showed this La Raza babe, who, incidentally, looks just like Dee Dee Meyers.
This is good news.

The first paragraph states, "they are MOVING 375 agents from the southern border to the northern border.

So while we watch the airports they just keep driving in, yesterday in Yuma a mini van with 26 illegals, driven by a 15 yr. old.....seems the cayotes are recruiting minors now to drive the loads in, as they know *minors* will NOT be charged with 'people smuggling'.

"Please read the article more thoroughly".
If you will read the article more thoroughly, maybe you will notice that they are taking BP agents from the southwest and placing them on the Canadian border. We have 5000 illegals crossing the SW border daily. In other words, 1,825,000 per year. How do you think we got 15 to 20 million illegals in this country that all speak Spanish?
Yes, I read the advertisement that security would be beefed up at Skyharber airport 2 months ago. Is it any wonder that 17 illegals were all they caught? They essentially told the smugglers to use another airport.

WASHINGTON Border agents will voluntarily move from their southwestern border assignments up to the Canadian border to help preventterrorist weapons, drugs and illegal immigrants (search) from entering the United States, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (search)announced Wednesday. The 375 additional agents will increase the number of those currently watching Canada's borders by more than half, bringing the total to 1,000 permanently-assigned agents. Still, the northern border will be monitored by only one-tenth of the 10,000-strong force.
I don't think there's much doubt what's going on here, but I will agree with one thing. They are watching the airports. I did see that same report earlier today on FoxNews.
Tell me if you can explain this one to me. How did those illegals get a ticket to fly on the airlines and board, if they are illegals? You and I can't fly without proper ID and promising our first born.

The Canadian border beefing up is in addition to, not instead of, stemming the flow of illegals into the country from the south. So are these 375 additional agents in the North, going to be replaced when they leave the South?
I think the answer may be yes.
[CBP Press Release]:U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Commissioner Robert C. Bonner has directed that additional Border Patrol agents be deployed as part of the continuing effort to enhance northern border security.
