My reading comprehension is just fine. After all, the person who posted it saw fit to BOLD that part.

There's more than "watching" the airport, but nevermind, this issue will get attention while you bemoan that it won't.

So, how do you know about the van in Yuma,hm? Could it be because they were discovered?!

Smugglers recruiting minors

You imply that "nothing" will be done to address this use of minors ploy. That is false.

The Border Patrol caught 156,950 in Cochise County in FY 2002. That's an average of 430 every day. And we only have 80 miles of the border.

Is this not unbelievable? Obviously the safety of Americans isn't on the minds of this guy and his cronies. >>>>>>

Tom Ridge *sounds* like Ziglar. Why can't Bush appoint someone who will ENFORCE our laws ????

For sum 30 billion tax dollars, all the citizens are getting is "color coding", & "instructions for duct tape & plastic".

"this issue will get attention while you bemoan that it won't."

What do you base that on?

And what is good about this article?

Um, I don't think Janet has the power to send agents to Canada.

"The decision comes as the Border Patrol backed off plans this week to seal off most of the Arizona-Mexico border (search) with more than 200 miles of wall and 100 stadium lights."

And why did the BP 'back off plans' to do this??? Could it be because of orders from the top? What's going to cause the most long term damage - the way Clinton accomodated Beijing, or the way Bush is accomodating Mexico City?

WASHINGTON — Border agents will voluntarily move from their southwestern border assignments up to the Canadian border to help prevent
terrorist weapons, drugs and illegal immigrants (search) from entering the United States, the Bureau of Customs and Border Protection (search)
announced Wednesday.

The 375 additional agents will increase the number of those currently watching Canada's borders by more than half, bringing the total to 1,000 permanently-assigned agents. Still, the northern border will be monitored by only one-tenth of the 10,000-strong force.

I don't think there's much doubt what's going on here, but I will agree with one thing.  They are watching the airports.  I did see that same report earlier today on FoxNews.

Tell me if you can explain this one to me.  How did those illegals get a ticket to fly on the airlines and board, if they are illegals?  You and I can't fly without proper ID and promising our first born.

"...the Border Patrol backed off plans this week to seal off most of the Arizona-Mexico border (search) with more than 200 miles of wall and 100 stadium lights. Officials say the Border Patrol will introduce a scaled-back version of the plan in October."

The scaled back version will be three feet of one strand barbed wire and a Coleman lantern.

"But border agents are having some success on one front -- preventing illegal immigrants who successfully get past the border from being smuggled to cities across the country,"

Gee, thanks!
Let's crowd them all together in the border towns!
We've got plenty of tax dollars lying around that needs spending!

Why wouldn't a better solution be to STOP THEM FROM COMING IN!!

You got me Tex. I haven't a clue why we don't protect our borders. As far as I am concerned the whole lot of those idiots in DC can be labled with the "T" word.

The Border Patrol is out of control. In Texas they are arresting Texas land owners on their own land, then throwing them in jail.

Check these people out.

Well geez. ANY official should be suspicious of 26 people in a MINI VAN.

You imply that "nothing" will be done to address this use of minors ploy. That is false.>>>>>>

http://yumasun.com/artman/publish/articles/story_6090.shtml

"Border Patrol spokesman William Robbins said Yuma agents pulled the vehicle over near the area of 1st Street and Avenue B and took the group into custody. Because the girl was a minor, she was released to Oliva's office".( mex. consul in Yuma)

"Oliva said his staff members will go to those same spots to tell potential illegal immigrants not to pile into vehicles and not to send their children with smugglers". (oh, *telling* them not to do that will stop it for sure !!)

"Oscar Romo, director of the Institute of Migration in San Luis Rio Colorado, Son., said smugglers have begun using minors as drivers because they know Border Patrol agents will generally release them". (and mexico will do NOTHING to the minors.)

"How did those illegals get a ticket to fly on the airlines and board, if they are illegals?"

DO, this is a public relations ploy.
An airport is the perfect place to show off a large force of Border Patrol searching for illegals.
How are they going to make an impact on TV patrolling miles of wilderness border?

WOW!

You would think with that many illegals being caught, that 5000 wouldn't get through daily. Amazing.

The federal agencies are coming down hard on any state militias who they think might interfere with our open borders policy.
Most of these ranchers who get thrown in jail are members of a militia who are trying to protect their land and their livelihood.
The federal government is flexing it's muscles.

"What's going to cause the most long term damage - the way Clinton accomodated Beijing, or the way Bush is accomodating Mexico City?"

By golly, Paulie, THAT is an excellent question!

From my perspective this mass immigration from Mexico is the most detrimental thing that has ever happened to America.

I'm with you, I didn't find anything good about this article, except that they caught 26 before they moved in, but I'm sure most of them are back in the USA by now.

The other poster seems happy that the mex. consul is going into mexico & *telling* them not to pile into cars or bring minors anymore.

If the illegals mind that good, maybe our BP can just start *telling* them to STAY OUT of the US if your not here legal.

This just in, all Immigration agents are being move to Washington State to guard the coastline. It's been unattended for too long!

INS record show that 1 illegal immirant from Bangkock had drifted in over the Washington beaches in the last 27 years. With only two dead fish and a loin cloth Zubantu Pogpoa had taken six months to travel the 4500 miles in a dugout lime tree back in 1976

Reached for comment a Bush spokesman said, "Our citizens are up in arms and they deserve to be. We should have protected our borders long before this. Now there isn't a chance of anyone sneaking in over the Washington State Beaches."

Washington Post and NY Times editorials have praised Bush's actions and state, "Well, if this doesn't satisfy those racial bigots out there, I don't know what will!"

CNN reported that Seattle politicians are up in arms, "If this isn't profiling I don't know what is. Why has our state been singled out for this treatment?"

The ACLU filed a suit on behalf of a homeless goat from Oregon that didn't have papers.

A DNC spokesperson stated that this was just the type of thing that the racist Republicans always revert to instead of proposing more giveaways for the underpriveledged. "They'd rather waste their resources on the beaches of Washington than pay families to do nothing in Hillary's state."

When reached for a comment the RNC spokesperson stated that bold action the type of which had never been tried before was now going to stop illegal immigration once and for all. There's been a lot of pressure on US jobs up and down the Washington coastline. Finally we have a President who is for the people.

Turning our attention to another topic, 329 more bodies have been found in the wilderness between El Paso and San Diego in the last 24 hours. "It's impossible to tell where they came from. They don't have any ID and the objects they were carrying were in some unknown foreign language. Nobody here knows what 'Norte Americano o Bustado' means."
