[history]
SACRAMENTO (AP) - Within months of leaving the Army in the early 1970s, Rep. Darrell Issa was arrested twice on illegal-weapons charges, including an incident in Michigan that led to a misdemeanor gun conviction.
Issa, a wealthy businessman and two-term Republican congressman from the San Diego area, is bankrolling an effort to place an initiative to recall Gov. Gray Davis on the California ballot. Issa has said he will run for governor himself if the effort is successful.

If he was a Democrat, it'd make him more palatable...
Anyways, I don't like Issa. He's an apologist for Wahhabis and other radical Arabs.

This just shows how scared of him they are...he has them running.
The Ohio charges were dropped, so there's nothing there other than to try and create an image in someone's mind...and the Michigan charge resulted in a $100 fine and 3 months probation, 30 years ago.
Yep...he's got them real scared if that's all they can dig up on him, and oh boy are they trying.

Media big smear machine places Issa in its sight.
Read Coulter's Slander for MO.
Note how cryptic the article is as well. They don;t ever say what Issa did or what the situation's were about. Deliberately left out and made mysterious.

If the powerful dirty tricks bunch at the DNC can't come up with much more than taking a Maserati for a joy ride and gun posession charges against a guy who just carried his M-16 as his only friend while in the army thirty years ago, they are really short on goo in the smear department.

so there's nothing there other than to try and create an image in someone's mind. This is a typical dirt dump from Davis staff to a willing media and the damage last's long after the "news reports".
Davis is slime.

Well now we know how scared they really are.
To: NormsRevenge
The incident, which involved Issa's older brother William, involved an alleged theft of a Maserati sports car from an auto dealership. Hey, they've got style.

(Recall Gray Davis and then start on the other Democrats)
To: Jeff Head
The CA Dem.s are scared of the Davis recall so, they slime Rep. Darrell Issa who has helped the recall. Typical Dem. tactics.

Has anyone found out what happens if the Dimwit Davis resigns before the recall? Looks like the Terminator is going to run in the recall. Name recognition alone will eliminate the rest of the field. I only hope Arnuld will turn out to be a real conservative and not a closet liberal.

If GOP is smart, let Issa be the lightning rod, and run a different candidate for governor (that way it nullifys the effects of all the ads used by the Dems).

In a news conference today, gun control groups showed a video in which Issa's 1998 campaign for the U.S. Senate ran a booth at a southern California gun show where high-powered weapons and Nazi memorabilia were being sold. Ooo, "nazi memorabilia".
Guess I'd better stay away from politics as I still possess the "nazi memorabilia" my uncle brought home from Europe in '45.

The way the law reads, the election would proceed anyway. That of course doesn't stop the courts from ruling otherwise.

I smell the stench of Bob Mulholland all over this. Have you noticed, though, that he doesn't appear on TV spewing his venom any more? The guy is such a slimeball that he's not exactly the poster child the Dem losers want out in front.
In any case, IMHO, Issa's not gonna have much of a shot at the governorship anyway. Just have to wonder what kind of slime they're trying to stir up against Ah-nuld.
To: NormsRevenge
All courtesy of Bob Mulholland, Davis' attack dog.
I personally don't think Issa is the man for the job, but if the Republicans can side step him and rally behind someone like McClintock, Davis is OWNED!

"
The groups said Issa would threaten assault-weapons laws as governor." Really? Then I want ISSA as the Governor NOW!!!
