I was just tossing out a few jabs, but not really arguing, though that's the clear invitation of this thread.

"In your very artfully and objectively phrased list of non-accomplishments you omitted "attemtpted to sneak an Amnesty for 200,000 Illegal Aliens..."
The heading is:
Items still to be accomplished and/or addressedI did not include, artfully or otherwise, a list of 'complaints' about attempts at anything.

Then I wonder why it is that the "BushBots" are constantly called socialists? I'll take "It's because they're Socialists" for 200 Alex.

This is just off the top of my head. I am sure there are numerous things to add. I hope people will do so.
Is pushing for tax refunds for families who dont pay taxes
Supports Medicare drug benefit resulting in the largest new entitlement program in 40 years
Signed campaign finance reform limiting freedom of speech
Federalized airport screeners creating DMV-type service
Signed PATRIOT Acts I and II, bypassing the fourth amendment on searches and seizures
Is currently holding American citizens without writ of habeas corpus
Supports Social Security benefits for Mexicans
Supports amnesty for illegal aliens
Refuses to address illegal immigration problem
Has increased discretionary non-defense spending by 18% in first three years, a rate eclipsing Clintons
Worked with Ted Kennedy for largest increase in the Department of Educations history
Sent $15 billion of our money to Africa to fight AIDS
Continues financially supporting terrorists AKA Palestinians
Supports continuing assault weapons ban

You want the ice cream store to put a flavor on the board that they've put on the board before, and nobody bought it.Then try a NEW flavor. Maybe that new flavor will not have numerous restrictions put on it to get to market & maybe the advertisements won't be flooded with negatives.

Though you choose to see the prescription drug bill as a betrayal by President Bush, I rather suspect that you would have been even more upset by the Demodog's bill if that were to have been signed into law by a Demodog president. This is about the best that could have been hoped for, and may end up on the very good side of the ledger in the long run.
As far as the other items on the list, thank you for what appears to be an excellent rundown on the first 30 Months.
Thanks for the ping, Howlin.
And you got it, MM... it is truly scary to think of what algore would have done to this country in just the first ten items of this list.

The GOP Hires 75 Telephone Marketers in New Delhi Suburb to Raise Funds for the Republicans.New Delhi, India? Please cite a source for this one. I can't imagine employing them to do fundraising over the telephone. Customer service, sure. But, fundraising? No offense to the people of India but, unless they're targeting people of Indian descent, the last thing an organization wants to do is turn off a potential contributor by employing that (grating) India accent.

(Just my opinion, of course. Your mileage may vary. You have the right to be wrong.)

May I suggest that you go back and re-read the lists? Many of your items are already listed. Thanks!

Ya got the executive branch, and both houses of congress.... and we're still hearing this "best we could hope for" hand-wringing nonsense.
The GOP must be thanking God for it's apologists...

Does not care if all we do is become liberals. = does care if all we do is become liberals to get elected said what is the point?
He was about to explode.
I think Bush is going to lose Rush if Bush keeps this up...

Now THAT is something I guess I could put on the first list:
GOP must be thanking God!
We certainly know the Democrats, if they do, won't admit that. Thanks, OWK. :-)

I did not include, artfully or otherwise, a list of 'complaints' about attempts at anything.
That belies the preamble regarding your second list, which "is for those items or behaviors many would like to see addressed or changed."
In any case, Bush's attempts to extend Amnesty for at least some Illegals remains, by any honest assessment, among those "Items still to be accomplished." Fortunately for him.
Nevertheless, I see I've intruded on the circle of self-congratualtion, so I'll take my leave.

I think Bush is going to lose Rush if Bush keeps this up...Rush may get lost from time to time, but it's never hard to find him again.
And I know where he'll be in November of next year. ;-)
To: newgeezer
Regarding CFR; I dont deride Bush for signing it. It arrived on his desk at a bad time, he didnt feel like dealing with it, so he signed it knowing SCOTUS would strike it down. Or just the most offensive parts of it, anyway. Cowardly? Lazy? Maybe. But its a dead issue now or will be soon, and there are more important things to be dealt with right now. That too, is just my opinion.

>>> ... President Bush has never been a far right wing conservative and I have no idea where all these people get that idea. He's never claimed to be that I'm aware of. He will reach for a compromise to gain some of what he wants while the opposition gets something also.Traditional conservatives have ever thought PresBush was a extreme rightwinger, or "a far right wing conservative", as you say.
However, PresBush has always called himself, a compassionate conservative. Bush has always espoused the public temperment and political agenda of Ronald Reagan. After all, Reagan was known to compromise and neogotiate when it was called for. Reagan was also a fiscal conservative, who had some limited success in his first term, at slowing down the rapid growth of federal spending. His hsitoric tax cuts of 1981 and the 1986 Yax Reform Act, where monumental achievements after twenety yaers of liberal legislation.
While Reagan didn't have control of the entire Congress, he did use his veto pen quite often. To my knowledge, PresBush hasn't used his veto power once since taking office. I find that perplexing, even for a compassionate conservative.
To: justshe
They'll be thanking God that the guy who's using the Constitution for a doormat, giving tax cuts to people who don't pay taxes, and robbing the rest of us to expand government socialism, has an "R" on his team jersey.
Woo-hoo!
Go team.
