What Are Our Options When the Constitution No Longer Protects Us?

It is heartbreaking to see what is happening to our country. We are plunging into decadence at an alarming rate and it seems that it may already be too late to turn back. Let's face it, we are fast becoming a country that our forefathers wouldn't recognize. Judges have, by and large, become activists for the socialist state. The president is dragged through the mud publicly at every opportunity by members of the opposing party, instead of being honored as our leader as he should be. Lying is as common as breathing no matter whose reputation or career might be damaged and more and more the media we once looked to for information reports only propagnada, half-truths and sometimes blatant lies. We no longer have any real security, neither as a sovreign nation with well-defined and protected borders, nor in our homes where the simple act of defending ourselves or our family can now cost us everything and even land us in prison. Our children are no longer our own to raise, but subjects of the state to be indoctrinated in the ways of "tolerance". The rights of criminals trump those of victims and of society as a whole. Marriage between a man and a woman is considered antiquated and to make a furthur mockery of a sacred institution, it is deemed desirable for the perverse practitioners of homosexuality. The evil doctrine of Islam and prayer to its false god is considered acceptable to impose upon school children, but the sacred scriptures are deemed offensive and prayer to the true God forbidden. The same people who will celebrate the slaughter of 85,000,000 innocents in the womb, will rally to spare the life of a serial murderer. We labor under an increasingly intolerable tax burden and we seem unable to do so much as get a handle on the fraud that keeps putting individuals in public office that work against the interests of the people.
When black has become white, murder is a right, lies are declared to be truth, the wrong word or even expression of belief can cost a job or even land you in jail, where do we turn? Do we continue to accept the increasing weight of the chains of political correctness and liberal tyranny? Do we keep going along with the status quo in hopes of a brighter tomorrow? Are we completely helpless to rise up and take charge of our country or are our chains already so well-forged that fighting them is futile and all we can do is moan under the weight of their burden? Is there any hope of restoring decency and common sense? Can our Republic be resurrected?
If the answer is yes, then how? It seems to matter little whether democrats or Republicans are in power, the wheels of a socialist state seem to have already been set in motion and are gaining momentum all the time. It seems that conservatives, patriots and Christians have only stayed the tide by putting a finger in the dike, but we can only hold back the flood for so long without reinforcements. Will they ever come? And if not, what then? Do we just give up, living the best we can till we die, clinging to what liberty we think we have? Or do we seek alternatives? How much do we value our liberty? Do we move away, find a deserted island somewhere? Do we secede even at the risk of another civil war? Do we challenge the government by passive resistance and noncompliance to force its collapse that we might start over? What is the answer?
I know many FReepers have given this a lot of thought and have ideas about how to cope if/when the current climate becomes unbearable. Desperate times call for desperate measures and it seems we are fast approaching desperation. The liberals would call this progress. I would call it a perilous plunge into the wells of decadence, with the glory of our past fast becoming nothing more than an echo in the ruins of a once great nation. < /rant >
"Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; Who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; Who substitute bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter! Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes And clever in their own sight!..Who justify the wicked for a bribe, And take away the rights of the ones who are in the right!"- (Isaiah 5-20-23)
"This country, with its institutions, belongs to the people who inhabit it. Whenever they shall grow weary of the existing government, they can exercise their constitutional right of amending it, or their revolutionary right to dismember or overthrow it." - Abraham Lincoln (first inaugural address)

The numbers are within an order of magnitude. Thomas Carlyle was the source for the French Revolution. I forget the rest.

At least you are consistent- consistent in leading our society down into a debauched moral cess pool. I see you would also claim that the equal protection clause was written to protect polygamy, incest, prostitution, adultery, and perhaps even beastiality and necrophilia if the owners sign the right papers first.....Take a good look at how much destruction you are willing to unleash to justify your ungodliness. You should not be suprised that the responsible among us unite to rebuke you.
Equal protection means just that, protection. It has nothing to do with what activities the law condemns. It has everything to do with the government protecting the victims of those crimes by punishing those who victimized them. If crimes against blacks or gays were not investigated, or prosecuted then they don't have equal protection and the feds could step in.
You, like our tyrant judges, have thrown all judicial restraint out the window. There is no way on Earth the Founders / writers of the 14th amendment intended the equal protection clause to enable sodomy. Its absurd. Your insisting that is what it means in no way changes the facts of original intent.

How can you keep mispercieving like this? First Due Process, then Equal Protection, and now you misconsture bvw when he uses my quote.
All laws are legislated morality, but that does not mean that all laws are moral. The supreme courts most recent bench-legislation comes to mind. The state is obligated to legislate laws that are a reflection of the moral order God has established. If they do that, the state can prosper. If they legislate BAD morality (immorality) then they will suffer, as so many have. All laws are legislated morality, but in the case of bad laws they legislate a flawed morality.
This gives the lie to your slander that we are state worshipers. Indeed state worshippers despise us, because we keep pointing to that higher moral order established by God Himself to which even the state is obligated to comply with and limit itself by.
As for the morality of a speed limit (If time permitted, I could do this with any of your examples save that unjust law on the end)- you have a moral obligation to not behave recklessly in a manner likely to injure others. No doubt a libertine like you would say, "Let me drive as fast as I want, then if I hurt someone I will pay the price."
Thankfully, most have the wisdom to reject this thinking. Conservatives can learn from history and apply it corporately, Libertines seem to demand to relearn every truth personally. Conservatives will say, "We have noticed in the past that a lot of 17 year olds (for example) like to drive 110 m.p.h., and they often have a wreck and cause damage. We are going to make it against the law to speed so that they will learn not to do that."
Libertines want to let the 17 year old learn that lesson on their own- even if it takes running over a four year old girl. Will it bring the girl back if the 17 year old goes to prison until he is in his 40s? Of course not.
Conservatism, conformance of the law to the absolute moral order of the universe, produces maximum freedom, happiness, and prosperity. Doctrinaire libertarianism produces mud, crud, filth, and decay.

"Sorry I missed it...not" Here's a brief recap: He basically said the south should secede and the sooner the better with all our welfare states and that the south would never rise again because we never did anything about poverty and ignorance and how the country would be better off without us.
I didn't notice when he was here what his signup date was, but it wouldn't surprise me if he was a DU troll. Those people really hate the south for some reason. I guess it's because they are all from those oh so enlightened urban rat holes like San Francisco or Seattle.

I've noticed that using the "liberal smear" is a tactic of people who have nothing else to argue with.True, though I think we all have been guilty of that at one point or another. Lord knows, I have.
Why do you hope I don't have any daughters?

Sodomy included any form of non-procreative acts including masturbation, oral and anal sex. There are states that currently have sodomy laws against these sort of things between heterosexuals. Even though I disagreed with the Lawrence vs. Texas ruling on constitutional grounds, I think state sodomy laws are stupid.

there are many ways to use our time well. As a Christian, my faith is the most important aspect of my life. However, the freedom to practice that faith is almost just as important...

I avoid the apostate church, as well. I am convinced we are in the days of that church: "Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the FALLING AWAY comes first, and that man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition." AntiChrist? He's right around the corner. "And for this reason G-d will send them STRONG DELUSION, that they should believe the lie." I am also of the belief that many Christians won't recognize the AntiChrist when he comes to power. Needless to say; I am no longer convinced that a "pre-trib" rapture will sweep us off the earth BEFORE the tribulation...we really don't deserve it.

A Christian doesnt' ask to flee trouble, only for the courage to endure it. We flee evil, temptations of this world.
But I am of a mind that God has reserved special souls for the coming day of trouble, tough, ready and steadfast.
I don't know if it will be in our lifetime, I don't see how it could be. I do know that when ever that time comes the saints will be weary, but will endure till the end.
