Morning, PKM.....questio for ya....Friday afternoon, I caught Frist briefly as he was wrapping up the Senate..he said something about there would be a vote on some judge when they returned..also, a cloture petition was filed the day before for someone..whom?...and he spoke a little about the need to get things going on nominations....sounds like the real fireworks start AFTER the 4th....do you know what/whom he was referring to.....and what might see when the Senate returns..besides the paens to Strom.....and it'll be interesting, won't it, to hear how Sheets eulogizes his colleague...

Last night Senator Frist story broke about his support for a Constitution Amendment on Marriage -- came in about 10:00 last night to my email from AOL Update News who send out the latest from the AP wire!

If he is speaking out on a Sunday about this, then I would expect the gloves have come off! I can only hope. Have a hunch this ruling by the SCOTUS may have touched off a firestorm that could just put some fight into the Senate Republicans!

Campbell, of Arizona, to be United States District Judge for the District of Arizona; provided further, that the Senate then proceed to a vote on the confirmation of the nomination, with no intervening action or debate;
Ordered further, That following the vote, the President be immediately notified of the Senate’s action.

Victor J. Wolski (Cal. No. 88)

Ordered, That the vote on the cloture motion on the nomination of Victor J. Wolski, of Virginia, to be a Judge of the United States Court of Federal Claims occur on Tuesday, July 8, 2003, immediately following the vote on the nomination of David G. Campbell.
Ordered further, That the live quorum under Rule XXII be waived regarding the cloture motion.

Bruce E. Kasold (Cal. No. 132)
Ordered, That at a time to be determined by the Majority Leader, after consultation with the Democratic Leader, the Senate proceed to executive session for the consideration of the nomination of Bruce E.
