Howdy Texas Freepers. I can't find where anyone posted a thread about our luncheon today in San Antoniom so thought I would in case any of you wished to post pictures. For those that didn't make it, we had a great turnout. Those in attendance were Jim Robinson, Mrs., and Chris, plus Jim's brother, Ms. AntiFeminazi, Slyfox,SWake,PetroniDE, RikaStrom, Guido, Hocndoc & Mr. Hocndoc,TXBubba, Blastus and their two children, Tall Texan, IVote2 & Mr. IVote2, Mil-Vet & Mrs. Mil-Vet, RimTop 56, Sockmonkey, TxGrandMom, Ravingnutter, BenR2,TheSarce and Gracey.
Now that's pretty good for an afternoon turnout in Texas, considering people came from Houston, Dallas/Ft Worth, Austin, Canyon Lake, Kerrville, New Braunfels and many locals from San Antonio area.
The food was wonderful, the company was magnificent and it was just plain GREAT spending time with our favorite freeper Jim Robinson.

We had the same idea at the same time. I'll repost my thread here.
It's been a very long day, so I'm going to make this short and sweet to give the freepers who attended lunch today a place to post.
My day started out at 5 a.m. when I headed down the North Dallas Tollway to meet Slyfox and SWake at the Galleria. When I arrived late, (my bad) Slyfox and SWake were waiting with Slyfox's husband. They quickly hopped in the car and we headed straight south - for San Antonio!
We stopped briefly in Waco at an IHOP next to Baylor campus and ate before making the rest of the long journey. It's been 20+ years since I was there and that place still makes me queasy. (Baylor, not the IHOP!)
We made great time and arrived almost an hour early at Mamacitas, a very fine Mexican food restaurant! Shortly after we arrived, Gracey arrived and started getting things moving. After some disappointing discussion with the manager who denied the possibility that we had previously reserved a private room, we were finally seated at the VIP table with a few side tables if we needed them. As it turns out, we needed them and then some!
I had a wonderful time. It was such a pleasant day sharing stories and good Mexican food with great freeper friends. What else would someone want to be doing on a Sunday afternoon in Texas?
The freepers in attendance from Houston, San Antonio, Kerrville, Austin, Dallas, and New Braunfels were:
BenR2
blastus
TXBubba (+2 beautiful children)
TallTexan
IVote2 and Mr. IVote2
sockmonkey
GUIDO
Jim Robinson, Sheila and Chris
Orville
MIL-VET and Mrs. MIL-VET
The Sarce
rikastrom
Petroni-DE
SWake
Gracey
Slyfox
MAF
I hope I got everyone. My brain is tired right now. lol.
I love the Texas freepers and it was so great to meet some of you for the first time and to see the rest of you again.
Texas freepers are the best.
To all freepers...If you've never been to a freepmeet, just do it. Meeting online friends in person is such a great experience.

Wow!! Would you believe there were 26 of us plus two children, and the majority were not local to San Antonio. Pretty good turnout for a Sunday afternoon.
It surely was GREAT meeting those of you we hadn't met before. Enjoyed talking to you Slyfox and Mrs. Mil-vet. And Sockmonkey, please call me when you get to Austin for Farmer's Market days.

FINALLY I get to make a freeper event, and what a great one to have as my inaugural opportunity! Got to meet Jim Rob and so many fun folks!
Of course, seeing TXBubba's beautiful little ones reminded me that Mrs mil-vet and I are STILL going through "beautiful granddaughter withdrawal"; our third son-in-law returned from his lonely year overseas (in April) and reclaimed his family - they're now at Ft Lewis, WA, so far away - sigh! Hocndoc used her most professional bedside manner and made us feel all better, though - *SMILE*!
Of course the brilliant reparte (I TOLD y'all I couldn't spell! Think phonetically - all soft vowels - with the accent on the last "te" which sounds like "tay") added immeasurably to the experience! Can't wait to see how the pictures turned out.....then again, maybe I shouldn't be so enthusiastic about the ones I might be in.....don't want to scare all the women and children - GRIN

Oh gads, I keep telling my husband we need to move to San Antonio. Yet another reason to move there. What a fantastic city, and when we visited, I met the nicest people in the whole world. I actually pouted at the airport when we had to leave. Not pretty, I can tell you. Glad you all had fun, and maybe someday we'll be lucky enough to go back to your wonderful state.

I know I missed the chance of a lifetime, but I was at my nephew's ninth birthday party in Austin.
A little birdie told me that Jim may return in 2004 though. Hope to make it then.

It was great to get together with my fellow freepers yesterday at Mamacita's. It was such an honor to eat lunch with our Father in Freepdom, Jim Robinson, and his family.
It was also wonderful to put a face to some names I see on different postings, and to catch up on the news of freepers I know but haven't seen in awhile.
To: Ms. AntiFeminazi; Jim Robinson
Excellent !! Wish I could have been there.
