As I see it, the P.J. O'Rourke review of hillary clinton's turgid tome can be reduced to the following observation: The clintons are mediocre, banal characters, a big yawn but for their scandals.

And because the missus scrupulously redacted from her memoir (and from her memory, some would add), all actionable particulars, dead as well as "living," (although not the underlying fraud of the "book deal," itself ), the resultant Simon & Schuster soporific, Living History, i.e., the clintons minus the corruption, is a real snooze, by definition...

The REAL "Living History" -- clintoplasmodial slime

Hillary's History

ANNOTATED EXCERPTS:

Living History
by Hillary Clinton
Simon & Schuster, 562 pp., $28

IF YOU PLAN not to read this summer, "Living History" is just the book. Hillary Clinton's new memoir is more than 100,000 pages long. At least I think it is. There are only 562 page numbers, but you know how those Clintons lie. A mere ream of paper could not contain the padding that has gone into this tome. Hillary--with the help of at least six ghostwriters--nails the goose of a manuscript to the barn floor and force-feeds it with lint.

… And then there are the fulsome tales of official junkets--unimportant, uninteresting, uneventful, and unending. "I had given a lot of thought to how Chelsea and I should dress on the trip.

We wanted to be comfortable, and, under the sun's heat, I was glad for the hats and cotton clothes I had packed." And I was glad for the scopolamine transdermal patch.

...IN FACT, Hillary and her husband aren't representative of much of anything American. Neither can drive a car. Hillary hasn't been behind the wheel since 1996.

YOO-HOO missus clinton
A '68 Mustang is not exculpatory

("I cajoled my lead [Secret Service] agent, Don Flynn, into sitting beside me. . . . Don's knuckles were white as dice by the time we arrived.") And Bill should never try. ("He has so much information running through his head at any given moment that he doesn't always notice where he's going.")

In nearly twenty years of family life, the Clintons did not own a home or go to the mall without armed guards. And when they had a cat and dog, "I had to set up a separate correspondence unit . . . to answer their mail."

...One senses profound superficialities here. Plumbing the shallows of Hillary is no easy matter, even for Hillary.

...We must recognize Hillary's principled outspoken feminism as elucidated in her U.N. Conference on Women speech: "It is a violation of human rights when women are doused with gasoline, set on fire and burned to death because their marriage dowries are deemed too small."

THE CLINTON RAPES, LIVING HISTORY, USEFUL IDIOTS AND ENTROPY
What did hillary clinton know and when did she know it? And was she part of it?
YOO-HOO missus clinton: THE CLINTON RAPES ARE "UNBECOMING"
clinton Administration Veteran / BERKELEY PROFESSOR:
"Hillary Rodham Clinton needs to be kept very far away from the White House for the rest of her life."

... And understand her stupidity...Hillary serves roasted eggplant soup and sweet potato puree to Jacques Chirac and doesn't get the joke when Chirac says, "Of course, I love many things American, including the food. You know, I used to work in a Howard Johnson's restaurant."

... Hillary failed the District of Columbia bar examination, but she passed in Arkansas--and "in the first jury trial I handled on my own, I defended a canning company against a plaintiff who found the rear end of a rat in the can of pork and beans he opened for dinner one night."

THE HILLARY, YOU KNOW, CLINTON TRANSCRIPT:
Analyzed and Annotated

by Mia T
January 22, 2002

THIS IS A RUSH TRANSCRIPT. THIS COPY MAY NOT BE IN ITS FINAL FORM AND MAY BE [YOU KNOW] 'UPDATED'

ABSTRACT

Background:

Using internal polling, the clinton 'infrastructure' determined that its cozy-clintonoid-interviews-of-the-Colmes/King-kind-scheme is no longer working. The scheme, which successfully shepherded and shielded the vacuous, inept, corrupt clintons for nine years, is now, post-9/11, yielding diminishing returns--and worse--increasing ridicule.

Hence, we had the clinton 'infrastructure' interviewer recalculation last week that specified more interviewer gravitas...and less lapdog...but not more doggedness...that is to say...that specified Jeff Greenfield.

A miscalculation, as it turned out. Greenfield made up in contempt what he lacked in inexorability. Although he conducted the entire interview circumambulating on eggshells, Greenfield did eventually ask the hard-boiled questions...

ASIDE: The tough questioning was followed by Greenfield's sudden, post-interview departure from CNN, a development which will only further reinforce cozy-clintonoid-interviews-of-the-Colmes/King-kind 4th-estate malfeasance.

Analysis:

Greenfield's circuitous path to clinton depravity and failure necessitates a nonlinear analysis of the data; we will use a (nonlinear) least squares curve fitter. Proportional hazards political survival regression analysis will generate a political survival curve for hillary clinton, which will show her viability (so to speak) over time.

Political survival time is defined as the length of the interval between the initial political trial balloon and political moribundity. Political moribundity is defined as two consecutive political failures--(one in the case of 9/11), or three not-necessarily-consecutive boo-filled public appearances, or one instance of a serious proposal generating laughter.

ASIDE: Since by any of these standards, hillary clinton is already flatlined, the more interesting question for this analysis would be: "What the hell is this moribund loser doing in the political arena, anyway?"

Survival is influenced by one or more factors, called "predictors" or "covariates", which may be categorical (such as the quality of 'infrastructure') or continuous (such as intellect or eloquence or character).

Results:

  • clinton rigor mortis rendered any discussion of clinton moribundity moot.

  • Nonetheless, one of the more significant continuous predictors of political moribundity is clinton's tic-like insertion of "you know," a marker for ineloquence, vulgarity, ignorance, rube-meets-valley-girl demographics, low self-esteem, anxiety and insincerity.

  • clinton uttered "you know" 52 times. Greenfield eventually caught the bug and uttered six "you knows," himself--a cautionary tale for wannabe clintonoid lapdogs.

  • Frequency of clinton "you knows" varied directly with intensity of Greenfield contempt and inversely with magnitude of Greenfield softballs.

  • clinton response is consistent with Rubin complicity in a clinton coup. See "The Daschle Scheme".

 "It's the bluebird--I know that"…

"Bird of paradise" would have been a brilliant wrong answer for the New-York-state-bird question; in one fell swoop it would have flattered the necessary constituency, rendered hillary's cheating marginally believable and suggested a quick, secure, creative mind. But the obsessively perfectionistic dodo wasn't able to fake even one wrong answer in the Letterman phony "pop quiz," a nostalgic electuary of "Twenty-One" fraud and (Groucho) Marxist left-wing crow.

Instead, this documented incompetent with no apparent creative or analytic (not to mention thespian) skills gushed forth with a lame--"It's the bluebird--I know that" --globally exposing herself to be the corrupt clown that the sentient among us already know she is.

It is no accident--and the Sheehy hagiography notwithstanding, it is certainly not because of any patriarchal society--that this reflexive kleptocrat never sought office. She never ran simply because she is a perfectionist and an incompetent who cannot tolerate personal (as opposed to bill-related) criticism, witness the prescreened, heavily controlled, sycophantic crowds, her pre-programmed, totally scripted appearances (or, alternatively, her totally mute "listening tour"), her unavailability to the press, indeed, her "bluebird."

missus clinton's REAL virtual office update

...However, it says something unflattering about our era that prominent political figures--who used to write declarations of independence, preambles to constitutions, Gettysburg addresses, and such--now use the alphabet only to make primitive artifacts, like the letter-inscribed tablet that Charlemagne is said to have put under his pillow each night, in the hope he'd wake up literate. Conservatives, including most of the Founding Fathers, have always worried that the price of a democratic system would be a mediocre nation. But George Washington and William F. Buckley Jr. put together could not have foreseen, in their gloomiest moments, the rise of Clinton-style über-mediocrity--with its soaring commonplaces, its pumped trifling, its platinum-grade triviality. The Alpha-dork husband, the super-twerp wife, and the hyper-wonk vice president--together with all their mega-weenie water carriers, such as vicious pit gerbil George Stephanopoulos and Eastern diamondback rattleworm Sidney Blumenthal--[Familiar metaphor?]

spent eight years trying to make America nothing to brag about.

They failed. And that is, ultimately, what makes "Living History" such a good nonread. If they're going to throw the book at us, and the book is by Hillary, the republic will endure (and the Republicans will prevail)….

Mindless rhinestone-studded-and-tented kleptocracy

by Mia T

John Podhoretz recently asked, "Whence comes hillary clinton's reputation for brilliance?" For the answer, he intuitively, rather brilliantly in fact, looked to her anatomy and noted,"This isn't the first time she's shot herself in the foot."

The above anatomical analysis supports the Podhoretz thesis. Notwithstanding The Pod's erroneous conclusions concerning hillary clinton's heart and nerve, he basically has it right. Anatomy is destiny...

Ian Hunter recently observed that our leaders are shrinking. "From a Churchill (or, for that matter, a Margaret Thatcher) to a Tony Blair; from Eisenhower to Clinton; from Diefenbaker to Joe Clark; from Trudeau to Chretien -- we seem destined to be governed by pygmies."

The pols understand their anatomical limitations well; they attempt to mitigate them with veneer. And so we suffer mindless alpha-beta-beelzebubba grotesquerie. . .

and rhinestone-studded-and-tented kleptocracy.

With all the media genuflecting before the press-conference podium of bill clinton, it bears remarking yet again that the clinton intellect (an oxymoron even more jarring than AlGoreRhythm and meant to encompass the cognitive ability of both clintons) is remarkable only for its utter ordinariness, its lack of creative spark, its lack of analytic precision, its lack of depth.

The clintons' fundamental error: They are too arrogant and dim-witted to understand that the demagogic process in this fiberoptic age isn't about counting spun heads; it's about not discounting circumambient brains.

Politicos and reporters are not rocket scientists . . .

Professions tend to be self-selected, intellectually homogeneous subgroups of Homo sapiens. Great intellects (especially these days) do not generally gravitate towards careers in the media or politics. Mediocre, power-obsessed types with poor self-images do.

Thus, clinton mediocrity goes undetected primarily because of media mediocrity. ("Mediocrity" and "media" don't come from the same Latin root (medius) for no reason.) Insofar as the clintons are concerned, the media confuse form with substance, smoothness with coherence, data-spewing with ratiocination, pre-programmed recitation with real-time analysis, an idiosyncratic degeneracy with creativity.

Jimmy Breslin agrees. In Hillary Is the 'Me-First' Lady, Breslin laments:

"At the end of all these years and years that are being celebrated this week, the national press of America consists of people with dried minds and weak backbones and the pack of them can't utter a new phrase for the language or show the least bit of anger at a business or profession or trade or whatever this business is that is dying of mediocrity."

Listen carefully to the clintons. You will hear a shallow parody of the class president. Not only do they say nothing; they say nothing with superfluous ineloquence. Their speeches are sophomoric, shopworn, shallow, specious. Platitudinous pandering piled atop p.c. cliché

In seven years, they have, collectively, uttered not one memorable word save, "It was a vast right-wing conspiracy," "I did not have sexual relations with that woman, Ms. Lewinsky,"and, "It all depends on what the meaning of 'is' is."

Even the clintons' attempts at alliteration fall flat. Compare Agnew's (Safire's) "nattering nabobs of negativism" with clinton's "preachers of pessimism," an impotent, one-dimensional, plagiaristic echo (its apt self-descriptiveness notwithstanding).

Before they destroy their backs along with their reputations, media gentry genuflecting at the altar of the clinton brain should consider Edith Efron's, Can the President Think?

A wasted brain is a terrible thing.

...do you know of a site that lists every Clinton scandal and misdeed by date. There is so many that I suspect I could have a clinton scandal of the day when I post on other sites with liberals. A this day in Clinton history type of thing.

How about a 3-year production run of Sony's CD-R disc. 700MB/per disc...should about do it...the size of the Library of Congress and the U.S. National Archives combined... :|... :) I think.

I can visualize a clinton scandal-du-jour calendar. Would there be any holidays, I wonder, i.e., did the lovely couple ever take a breather from corruption? Somehow, I doubt it. Corruption is breathing, for the clintons.

Just when I think America can't produce it's own Christopher Hitchens, or Andrew Sullivan, I'm reminded of PJ O'Rourke. And why don't I see more of him on television? He'd provide excellent flanking for the Blonde Babe Brigade currently manning the front lines. (Not that they need any help.)

Here's my question Mia. In New York, can a sitting US senator run for president, lose, and keep her senate seat?

If the answer is "yes", I fully expect Hillary to be 'drafted' in 2004, and with Bill Clinton touting Wesley Clark just this week-end, as presidential material, it's possible Hillary could choose Clark as her running mate. Besides satisfying the military expertise issue, it re-connects Hillary to Arkansas, and satisfies presidential candidate geographics too. Besides, I don't think Democrats would run two sitting senators for P and VP.

1. Hillary is the only candidate who could satisfy democrat middle grounders, and both lunatic wings of the party.

2. Losing to Bush in 2004 wouldn't tarnish her image one bit, in fact, with a presidential run under her belt, she would be considered even stronger for 2008.

A Summer Book for Hillary

By

Published 6/27/2002 12:03:00 AM

The Current Crisis

Washington -- It is summer reading time, and I have a perfect book for Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton to bring to Martha's Vineyard, that posh Massachusetts resort where she and husband Bill always find a nice captain of industry to loan them a cottage with servants and golf clubs. The book is a modern French masterpiece, L'Effroyable Imposture, by France's next Jean-Paul Sartre, M. Thierry Meyssan, a sleepy-eyed moderate leftist, whose title, translated into English, reads "The Horrifying Fraud."

It is not a book about the Clintons. Rather it is a book about a topic Hillary herself introduced to America, the topic of "right-wing conspiracy." When first she mentioned that a conspiracy of conservatives was behind her husband's numerous scrapes with the law and with scandal in general, the press was dubious and the public bemused. Then gradual repetition of the conspiracy theory began to take hold. Columnists discovered that Linda Tripp had been a Republican, that Lucianne Goldberg once worked somehow for Richard Nixon, that Kathleen Willey and Paula Corbin Jones -- though Democrats -- spent a lot of time with Republicans, and Mrs. Willey's dead cat could have died by natural causes.

Soon reliable sources such as James Carville and David Brock were telling all. They knew that almost everyone who spoke ill of the Clintons had one thing in common, to wit, they were not party-line Democrats. Nor had any contributed to any of the Clintons' political campaigns. Some had military backgrounds. M. Meyssan's book makes many useful contributions to the Clintons' theory of a "vast right-wing conspiracy" here in America. "The Horrifying Fraud" argues that the September 11 attacks on America were carried out not by Islamic fundamentalists or by any foreigners at all. The attacks were the work of a right-wing conspiracy working within the American government. Who doubts that when Hillary gets her copy she will turn immediately to the index to see if Richard Scaife is mentioned or Lucianne?

By the way, this is no marginal book written by a writer on the fringes of French society. It has sold over 200,000 copies in France. It stands atop the French best-seller list shouting "Hillary was right." And the argument is exquisite, offering intellectual complexity that no Yankee Clintonite can match. According to M. Meyssan, Lucianne's agents inside the government were threatening to overthrow the Bush Administration by a coup (America's first ever) if he did not agree to expand the military budget and declare war against Afghanistan and Iraq, both of which countries have gotten on the right's nerves. Oil interests were also at issue, and in the case of Afghanistan, perhaps, rugs.

To increase pressure on the Bush Administration and possibly avoid the necessity of a coup (America's first ever) the right-wingers (or should we call them Republicans?) needed a provocation for the administration to attack Afghanistan, and Iraq and so they hit the Pentagon and the World Trade Center. Then they blamed the whole thing on the otherwise irreproachable Osama bin Laden.

The attack went like this. The right-wing conspiracists laid hands on a missile and fired it into the Pentagon. As for the planes that we all saw hit the World Trade Center, they were programmed to hit the towers. Apparently there were no pilots. Thus Osama bid Laden could not possibly have been involved, and all decent Americans owe him an apology. We should give him his caves back and even the bats.

The argument does leave some unanswered questions. One is where is that plane that the right-wingers would have us believe hit the Pentagon? It was an American Airlines plane. Could American Airlines be involved in the plot? That is a publicly-held company. And where are the passengers on the flight that M. Meyssan tells us never hit the Pentagon?

Possibly these questions will be answered by the time the American edition of this useful French contribution to the study of right-wing conspiracies hits the country. It is being translated into English and several other languages for distribution in 16 countries. I hope the American edition will have an introduction by a knowledgeable student of the "vast-right wing conspiracy," for instance former Clinton White House aide Sidney Blumenthal. Democratic National Chairman Terry McAuliffe will surely be asked to do a blurb. And it is always possible that Hillary might too. You can be sure that in a matter of weeks she will have read it cover to cover. I am told she reads French and twelve other languages.

The clintons have clearly arrogated the Democratic party in perpetuity.
One has to wonder if the Ds will tolerate the clintons much longer....
We are starting to see cracks of the Susan Estrich-"hillary clinton can never be president"- expediency variety....

missus clinton's Cover Lies and the Howard Dean Syndrome

Mia T, 6.25.03

The clinton Complex-Question Fallacy Scheme notwithstanding, it is axiomatic and confirmed on a daily basis by clinton "infrastructure" strategy, itself, that hillary ("listening tour" / cozy-clintonoid-interviews-of-the-Colmes-kind) clinton is no better than Howard Dean at withstanding media scrutiny... and is likely significantly worse.

From this it follows--if one also notices that media genuflection before the altar of clinton is no longer de rigueur--that hillary clinton cannot survive the standard, lengthy, probing presidential-campaign process. An end run is her only option.

And contrary to conventional wisdom, time is not on her side. Not only are the clintons in general decline, but in this post-9/11 world, demographics favorable to liberals projected for 2008 will not resuscitate disfavored, dysfunctional, dangerous demagogues like the clintons.

Look, therefore, for the clintons to make their move in '04. Susan Estrich, Al From and The Times aren't on the same "Get the clintons off the stage!" page for no reason.
