Man Opens Fire in San Francisco Hotel; Three Killed
The Associated Press
Published: Jun 28, 2003 SAN FRANCISCO (AP) - A man opened fire in the lobby of a residential hotel Saturday, killing three people and critically wounding another, police said.
The shooting apparently followed an argument at the hotel, San Francisco police Sgt. Neville Gittens told KCBS radio. Details remained unclear, and the name of the hotel was not immediately known.
Two victims were pronounced dead at the scene and a third died at a hospital, Gittens said. A fourth victim was in critical condition.
The gunman, believed to be a resident at the hotel in the city's Tenderloin District, fled. Police closed nearby streets as they searched for him, Gittens said.

Certainly, the Tenderloin has no need to import violence. Its reputation is celebrated in many a song, stanza and obituary column.
Still, you never know...

Say goodbye to another chip on the 2nd ammendment rock. I'm sure some type of legislation will come from Sacramento to "prevent" this from happening again.

My first post, although I registered more than a year ago.
I had just dropped my wife and in-laws off at Macy's and was trying to find a cross street that crossed Market, and wound up on the block of Turk where the shooting occurred. I was waiting at the red light on Turk at Taylor and had just finishing rolling up the passenger side window and locking the passenger side door, which my wife had left unsecured, when I heard about six evenly spaced shots. The people at the far end of the block ran toward my end, and some ducked down between the parked cars. That is not just the worst part of town, it is probably the worst block in that part of town.

Why would there be a shooting over drugs?
Are they easy to obtain yet expensive thereby creating obscene profit for he dealers due to the fact they're illegal?
Fancy that.

You just don't get it. It's not the gun or the drugs...it's the manufacturer of the shelf. If the shelf-maker (probably owned by some rich guy) had not made a shelf that allowed drugs on it ...this would have never happened. The shelf-maker should be sued and made to pay, and required to put warning labels, and smart pill technology on all their products.
Oh, yeah? Well, well, what about the hardware used to hang the shelf, hum?? I mean, that shelf isn't staying up there on the wall all by itself. The hardware makers should share a big part of the responsibility. (/sarcasm)

Here's the deal: If God doesn't destroy San Francisco pretty soon, He's going to have to apologize to Sodom and Gomorrah.

What is it that you don't understand about the second ammendment?
Can you find a constitutional protection for getting f***ed up on drugs?
A "drug" is just a chemical. Some chemicals are useful in treating ailments, some just alter one's perceptions. Some are useful but can be dangerous in the wrong hands or if not administered in a controlled environment. Some are available over the counter, some require a "permission" slip from a doctor, and some are banned outright.
