[history]
Washington -- The state's 33 Democratic House members appealed Friday to Californians to oppose the recall of Gov. Gray Davis by not signing petitions for the ballot measure.
The Democrats, led by House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi of San Francisco, were realistic in their assessment of the recall movement but said they hope to at least slow the process so voters won't decide the governor's fate until the March presidential primary, when a heavy turnout of Democrats is expected.

The recall movement has come a long way from where it started. A recall election now seems nearly inevitable - it is just a matter of when it will take place.

I'd say it's a little late for an appeal like this as the total number required should be collected shortly.
Then look for the demonrat dirty tricks to start.

Thanks,
I missed this somehow. It's good to know that in an uncertain world there are still constants. The sun rises in the east and sets in the west. Death and taxes. Lying, cheating demonrat b*st*rds.

Thanks for the link. Yes, you can bet this will be a repeat of the Broward, West Palm Beach circus.
I haven't lived there (Kali) for many years now but still keep up with the goings on. The demonrats are starting to get stirred up. I base this observation on the fact that my old college roomate and his wife (they are so far left they fancy themselves as the last American communists) seem to be particularly edgy as of late.
We had our weekly phone call last night to catch up on the latest with kids, etc. and one mention of the recall effort was enough to set them over the edge. The b*st*rds seem to be on the edge of panic.
This is a good time to be a conservative.

The Democrats also blamed their GOP colleagues for a good part of the budget crisis that has sapped Davis' popularity, saying Republicans had done nothing to help California recover about $12 billion in energy costs paid to companies that allegedly manipulated the market. Their fault?
