New York Sen. Hillary Clinton is applauding this week's Supreme Court ruling that decriminalizes the kind of sex act popularized by her husband, which became known as a "Lewinsky" after Mr. Clinton confessed to having an inappropriate relationship with a White House intern by the same name.
"This is an especially historic moment for those Americans whose right to privacy has been under siege," Mrs. Clinton said in a statement posted to her official Senate Web site. "And I am pleased the Court has confirmed a value important to us all."
In her recent book, "Living History," Senator Clinton condemned her husband for lying to her about Monica Lewinsky, but she insisted that the illicit relationship should have remained a private matter.
Asked during her book tour about allegations that her husband sexually harassed or even assaulted other women, the top Democrat has invoked what she called "a zone of privacy."
Mrs. Clinton told ABC's Barbara Walters that any future Lewinsky-like dalliances involving her husband and other women "will be between us. And that will be that zone of privacy that I believe in."
Before Wednesday's privacy ruling, Mr. Clinton's relationship with Lewinsky would have been illegal in nine states; including Alabama, Florida, Idaho, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia.
Another four states have laws on the books that ban oral and anal sex among homosexuals, but impose no similar limit for heterosexual couples.
[The] decision by the Supreme Court, by reaffirming the Right to Privacy in America, is very good news," Sen. Clinton proclaimed. "All Americans deserve the same rights and equal protection under the law, regardless of race, gender, religion, and sexual orientation."
Has anyone heard whether she decided to return the 900 FBI files yet?
I don't know about that, seems to me it has always been popular, at least in my neighborhood. SwampCat didn't actually invent it.
Sounds like Hill already has Dasholes job!
Is the "Zone of Privacy" like Max Smart's "Cone of Silence"?:^}
Well, since it's legal we can now go extract them out of her A$$!
