It does not meet the legal definition of murder. She was overcharged.

Actually in Texas we have a provision for a compound felony.

She committed one by the hit and run and then compounded it with her letting the man die.

That is why she was charged with first degree murder and not second.

Kennedy owns the state of MA.......anyone wanting to keep their job knew they had better not charge the man with anything much more than littering.

You seem to know the area. A question if I may. From the point where she hit him, to where her house is, are there any fire stations, police stations or hospitals, that a person in the area would obviously know about?

According to her own statements there was a fire station right around the corner.

Also, I had heard about her 'partying' while the man lie dying in her garage.

She didn't stop her 'lifestyle' during the 4 months between the incident and being found out.

There was a lot of information about her actions that never got into the trial because they never put her on the witness stand. All of it was revealed in the media. She also bragged at a party that she killed a white guy.......

Pure evil, no other word for it.

Consider tho our society's general lack of respect for life and you begin to see the consequences for those attitudes and not just the OJ jury either.

I read that the man was alive when he was dumped. They testified that they heard him moan.

Her biggest crime was not getting help for this poor guy and the cover up.

She put him in the situation he was in therefore she was responsible for getting him aid.

She not only did not get help for him but made sure he would die by dumping him somewhere he would not be found.

She had a total indifference for anyone's life but her own and deserves everyday she spends in prison.

At least she will not be treating elderly people or driving the streets stoned.

The defense found someone to say it probably died in two hours. The evidence was otherwise because she herself said she heard him moaning for hours and the men who dumped the body the next morning also heard him moaning.

You can find an 'expert' to testify to anything, it would seem.

Just a reminder that some people walk about from a murder with nothing more than a ticket for jaywalking.

I've posted this before but I think it's worthy of being posted again as it's the document submitted by the police to obtain the arrest warrant. It contains details about the case from the cops investigation.

No.He was in the garage and moaned.Mallard admitted this. Her girlfriend had come over after she had had no luck finding her male friend by phone. They drove around looking for the guy and finally reached him.Under cover of darkness the night following the 3am accident the body of the deceased Mr Biggs was dumped. The medical examiner said it took about two hours for Biggs to bleed to death. Her girlfriend heard him,too I believe.

The 30 years minimum should ensure that no more of her genetics gets into the human genome(I don't know if she has had any kids yet).

Here's something I've always wondered about. Can anyone out there explain it to me? Why do they run sentences concurrently? If the second sentence doesn't effect the prison time, why do they bother? In other words, why give her 10 years in addition to the 50 if she doesn't actually have to serve the extra 10 years?

Actually it was the medical examiner testifying for the state who gave the time it took him to die.

I caught a pretty good bit of the trial proceedings, but missed a bit too.

All that stuff about being hysterical and afraid and not knowing what to do was all centered around fear for herself and what would happen to HER if she got caught.

All her actions immediately after the accident and concealment of her car and Biggs body in her garage were done in an effort to keep from facing responsibility. She was told to call 911 by her friend that came over right after she got the car to her home, and she refused. That is inhuman.

Well, she will have to do 25-30 years minimum now because of that. Maybe longer depending on the parole board the year she becomes eligible for parole.

If I am not mistaken this information is from the tipster who heard Mallard tell about the accident and gave the police cause for a search warrant. The details are not all correct.Mallard lied in her confession to the police, saying she wasn't involved in disposing of the body..admitted she was at trial. Her party friend lied twice to a grand jury. It's tough to keep it straight!

Part of the information is from the tipster but part of the information is from the cops interview with Mallard.

I agree, it's hard to keep it all straight!
