Cambodia and the United States signed a bilateral accord today preventing the others' citizens from being extradited to the International Criminal Court.
More than 30 nations have signed bilateral accords prohibiting extradition of U.S. troops and other Americans charged with crimes against humanity or war crimes. Washington argues that the court could subject Americans to politically motivated trials.
The pact prevents both Americans in Cambodia, and Cambodians in the United States, from being extradited to the court in The Hague, Netherlands.
The International Criminal Court was inaugurated on March 12 and is charged with intervening only when a country is unable to carry out a trial or lacks the political will to do so. It was signed by about 90 nations and is to prosecute crimes committed after July 1, 2002.
Foreign Minister Hor Namhong and U.S. Ambassador Charles A. Ray signed the agreement at a ceremony in the Cambodian capital Phnom Penh.

EU REPRESENTATIVE 'SURPRISED' BY MACEDONIAN DISAPPOINTMENT. Donato Chiarini, who heads the European Commission's delegation to Macedonia, told "Dnevnik" of 25 June that he was "surprised" by the disappointed reaction of Macedonian politicians to the results of the 21 June EU-Western Balkans Summit in Porto Carras, Greece. Chiarini said the purpose and results of the meeting were clear beforehand, adding that he was surprised by some Balkan leaders' unrealistic expectations. Macedonian Foreign Minister Ilinka Mitreva said the meeting did not meet her government's expectations. Recent Macedonian media reports suggest that the disappointment might prompt the government to conclude a bilateral extradition-immunity agreement with the United Sates prohibiting the handover of each other's citizens to the International Criminal Court (ICC), something that the EU firmly opposes.
BTW, I heard on the Fox News one evening this week that the UN building is falling apart! (Isn't that more good news?) I believe the parasites want billions of dollars to pay for the repairs. Anyone else hear this report?
I would rather spend the dollars to demolish the UN building. Let the parasites move to France.
Cool! Move them out to Paris in a new building.
