Dang--finally got nestled in on the web feed, and they break for the evening. Does anyone know whether the jury remains sequestered through the sentence phase?

Court TV said the will continued to be sequestered and that the county that this case is in is low on money so they might work over the weekend. If were lucky it won't take them long to give this monster the sentence she deserves.

I think so.That's why the judge went so late.I've watched trials where they take days off and quit at 4.

Thanks for the info. I heard the other day that sending the jury out of the court room tends to make them cranky. The defense attorney has done it time after time. I don't think she will get less than 25 years--and very possibly life.

See y'all in the morning.

Chante is some kind of cold-hearted creature and we are all better off that she is going to be locked up for a good, long time. (Think of the damage she could do just by passing on her genes!)

Don't think it's impossible for her to get pregnant in the joint. Stranger things have happened.

It happened right in Ft. Worth on one of the major freeways at 2am or later. Don't know about any recreating of the accident scene.

Thank you for your love for Texas. This crime required speedy action, the kind of speed that the poor victim should have been given help. The murdered will reap now what she has sown.

He called me and was very upset that he hit the dog. And this woman left a man in her windshield.

I know how he felt. Years ago, while driving in heavy fog in Golden Gate Park, a pack of raccoons showed up in my headlights, slowly walking across the road from right to left. I swerved to the left to avoid them, and darn the luck, they all darted in the same direction, putting them right in the path of my front bumper.

The thud was surprisingly loud from the largest of the raccoons, and knowing that I couldn't do anything like give it CPR, I kept on driving. Through no fault of my own, I had taken a life. Not a human life, but the life of an innocent creature that wasn't being a pest or endangering me. My heart started beating double-time, and I just started crying. It was an awful feeling.

Since that night, I vowed to be a safer driver. I didn't want to have to live with killing a human being with my car on my conscience, ever.

That's what drives me nuts about this case: hitting someone is bad enough, but Mallard -- putting the BEST face on this case -- was ready to live her life with letting Biggs die a slow, agonizing death as if he never existed.

Even worse is this: SHE WAS IN THE MEDICAL FIELD! HOW COULD SOMEONE WHO HAS SUCH DISREGARD FOR HUMAN LIFE BE IN CHARGE OF PEOPLE'S HEALTH?!!

Virginia Kelley may have been an incompetent anesthesiologist, but at least she didn't let patients die ON PURPOSE!

She should definitely get far more than her sentence would have been for injuring or killing a man accidentally while driving intoxicated.

It was her fear of getting caught that prompted her selfish and evil decisions. To give her anything less than twice what she would have served from vehicular homicide and DWI, would be to actually justify her original actions.

Considering that Mallard admitted today she was stoned while at most of her jobs, I'd like to know the answer to that as well.

I'm currently living in Texas. Texas is not a good place to make a mistake.

And no, I'm not calling, not noticing a guy stuck in your windsheild a mistake. That's more like a big F Up. Well, actually it's worse.

I guess "Chante" will now be doing her singing on the chain gang.

Had she immediately called for help she wouldn't have got any time. He was apparently J walking. The crime was what followed the accident.

LMAO!

I know I shouldn't... but, it was always obvious that it didn't matter what race anyone was, it didn't matter that it happened in Texas... all that mattered was that she drove home with the man stuck in her windshield, and went out and spoke to him, "I'm sorry!" She admitted her guilt to the VICTIM!

I am so glad the jury found her guilty. God bless the poor victim and his family.
