Attendance at, possession or viewing of, an "R," "NC-17" or "X"-rated movie

Deception

Entering the space above ceiling tiles

Malicious horseplay/behavior (plus financial restitution)

Obscene, profane or abusive language or behavior

Out of residence hall overnight or substantial portion of the night without permission (after 2:00 a.m.)

Participation in an unauthorized petition or demonstration

Possession and/or viewing of pornography

Possession of a school key without authorization

Safety/security violation

Students of the opposite sex visiting alone at an off-campus residence

Visiting the residence hallway of the opposite sex

18 Reprimands + $100 Fine

(regardless of previously paid fines) + 18 hours Disciplinary Community Service + 50% Scholarship Reduction

Association with those consuming alcohol

Commission of a misdemeanor

Failure to properly identify oneself

Falsification of information on an official document

Lying to a dean during an official investigation

Racial harassment

Sexual harassment (i.e., unwelcome sexual advances, requests for sexual favors or other conduct or comments of a sexual nature)

Sexual misconduct and/or any state of undress

Threat to do bodily harm

Vandalism (plus financial restitution)

Visiting bedroom of the opposite sex on/off campus or allowing the same

30 Reprimands + $150 Fine

(regardless of previously paid fines) + 30 hours Disciplinary Community Service + possible Administrative Withdrawal and/or possible 100% Scholarship Reduction. NOTE: For each accumulation of six (6) or more reprimands after 30, an additional $150 fine will be assessed.

Failure of three (3) Christian/Community Services without reconciliation

Non-participation/disruption/non-compliance (possible removal/exclusion from campus)

Spending the night with a person of the opposite sex

Stealing or possession of stolen property (plus financial restitution; minimum two semesters out)

Two or more individuals of the opposite sex together in motel room

Bach wrote commissioned music, sucking up to one of his main customers (one which could break him like a twig).

Aquinas was a typical example of what one could do in the twisty world of manufactured medeival Catholic theology, so he doesn't count.

DaVinci would count, but he wasn't particularly churchy, so that example is gone.

Perhaps to demonstrate just how bizarre and out of touch Falwell and his institutions are. Having read this, I'd think twice before putting any graduate of this institution in a position of authority over others. Legalism bites, is non-Biblical, and smacks of tyranny.

It's probably just like anywhere else. A few believe in the rules and even abide by them, but most just roll their eyes and do what they have to to get by. And they can be found partying and fornicating (their term, not mine) on weekends.

I would disagree. It wasn't the "strict regulation" that made them alcohol imbibers, it was the unchristly condition of their hearts that lead them to the bar scene.

I would say that after 4 years of LU, they simply didn't want to pretend to be christians anymore. They were just showing the true selves that they hid from the LU administration.

That statement is false, and yes, Di Vinci would apply.

The issue at hand is whether the leadership prohibited, or was usless in producing creativity.

By you own arguments you have affirmed that the institution of the chuch and its leadership resulted in the work product achieved.

So they were not usless. The statement is false.

Where I went to school, this wasn't against the rules. In fact, the school paid for the beer and wine at freshman orientation.

Unfortunately, you are right. Churches don't enforce their own standards anymore because they are afraid of being considered "legalistic".

I attend a private Christian college, one that is pretty darn conservative.

The rules at Liberty are ridiculous.

Basic ones like no swearing, no having sex, no sleeping in a female's room overnight, are reasonable and are the main rules at my institution. We don't even have a curfew and I like that. Most of the kids are responsible enough they can handle not having a curfew. I like that when I am up late studying, I can run to Coastal at 3 a.m. if I want to.

But Liberty goes way beyond this and the fines are ridiculous.

Also, the restrictions on displays of affection (you can't even give a kiss on the cheek???) are just asinine.

At my college, such rigid rules are not in place.
