Belgian lawmakers propose euthanasia for children

Seek extension of law to allow assisted-suicide for those under age 18

Lawmaker's in Belgium have announced plans to propose an extension of the country's euthanasia law to allow the procedure for those under the age of 18, according to a report by Expatica in the Netherlands.

''Those under the age of 18 feel pain in exactly the same way as their elders,'' Flemish Liberal Senator Jeannine Le-Duc told the Gazet van Antwerpen.

Francophone politicians say they're open to the idea of a discussion about reducing the age to 16, but no less.

''Euthanasia for a seven-year-old kid – there’s no way,'' Liberal Senator Philippe Monfils told La Libre Belgique.

Last week, negotiators forming Belgium's new government called for every hospital across the country to have a team of doctors prepared to administer euthanasia to adults. The move was designed to counter opposition by some Catholic hospitals that have reportedly refused to permit assisted suicide on their premises.

Doctors will be given a protected status for performing euthanasia, which was was legalized in Belgium last year.

One lawmaker said euthanasia is the business of a doctor and a patient, and hospitals should not interfere.

I support every effort to reduce the number of Belgians. In fact, the permission of the Belgian being euthanized should not be a requirement.

If you're in Belgium and need a doctor, don't piss him/her off.

Whoever thinks that the Nazi's didn't win in WWII doesn't think long-term.

It can't happen here though...

IIRC, the Flemish contingent in Belgium in Germanic, and the Francophone (Waloon) segment is French.

My understanding is that these groups are often at odds. What an interesting manifestation of their differences.

Still, the line has been breeched: this year's stopping at 16 will slide to 14 next year (or whatever their current age of sexual consent happens to be).

Why stop at 16? What so sensitive about age? Can not 7 year old want death for some reason like 16 year old? If murdering psycho government...why be hypocrit too?

This is the next step in the progression:

Abortion

Right to die for sick, aged, infirm

Now we have Euthanasia for minors - just a small extension from Partial Birth Abortion!

If we value LIFE - we value FREEDOM

Eventually, we will have to ``prove'' that we ``deserve'' the right to continue living, I guess.

We're talking Belgium here. They're just weeding themselves out. Maybe it will catch on in France and Germany. They could practice this in Canada, just to get it right.

Oh yes, I think that you are right. I'm telling you, stories like this one, compounded by 'volley-ball' sized hail in North Dakota, compounded by Islamic terrorists in their obdurancy, I'm telling you, it's the End Times.

Belgian lawmakers propose to eliminate criminal status of murder.

"It's a necessary tool for a society that is concerned about overpopulation, global warming, and sustainable growth" Flemish Liberal Senator Jeannine Le-Duc told the Gazet van Antwerpen.

And those are the same people who rant and rave about the facts that most states in the US have the death penalty? As we speak the Eurinals are pressuring Bush to enact a law that will ensure no Euro will receive the Death penalty.
They are really getting sillier and sillier.I Hate the Euro Bunch.
