FREEP the NOW gang (to meet in DC, July 11 - 13)

Posted on 06/24/2003 4:05:35 PM PDT by Gopher Broke

Dear Women's Rights Supporter,

I'm writing to extend two urgent invitations!

First, you don't want to miss one of the summer's really great events as NOW holds its first-ever Intrepid Awards Gala to honor women of breathtaking achievement. Check on the details and get your reservation to us soon so that I can save a table or seat for you on July 10 at the elegant National Museum of Women and the Arts in Washington, D.C.

Kim Gandy

This Gala is our kick-off party for the launch of NOW's Drive for Equality campaign to register and mobilize women voters in key states—and after the Gala, the party's over and we're getting down to the business of unseating the "resident" in the White House and the tyrants in Congress. Don't miss it!

Second, if you're as mad and determined as I am, you'll also join me at the National NOW Conference in Washington on July 11-13. In case you need a reminder, here are the Top Ten Reasons you should be there!

In addition to connecting with feminists from across the country and sharing stories and strategies, you'll also: enjoy great plenary speakers, including activist/author Rebecca Walker, and a political brown bag lunch with the inside scoop from our favorite members of Congress, Rebecca Walker hear from presidential candidates (confirmed so far: Dean, Kucinich, Moseley-Braun, Sharpton) and comic Elayne Boosler, participate in the five-session Political Institute to expand your campaign skills, bid on one-of-a-kind art and political memorabilia at the PAC auction, tour great exhibits and vendors, enjoy music, dancing and entertainment, and choose from more than 40 interactive issue workshops and skill-building sessions, many focused on using our issues to organize feminists and mobilize disaffected voters. Please pass this message along to anyone who would love to spend a weekend with fabulous feminists. For more details, info on $99 hotel rooms, and to register online, go to www.now.org/conference.

Special Rates: If you can only come to the conference for one day, we have a special one-day rate of $40. And we're inviting all non-profit interns to come to the entire conference for a reduced rate of $25, which includes a one-year NOW membership!

We need every women's rights supporter to be at this conference and help us strategize to end the Bush reign! If you have more questions about the conference, check out the website or call Bonnie Rice, 202-628-8669 ext. 117.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Kim Gandy President, National Organization for Women (NOW)

This is a joke, right? They have Dean, Kucinich, Moseley-Braun, Sharpton coming? This has to be a joke.
