I think this ship is part of a July 4th "celebration" planned by Al Quaida.
There are a few more like this floating around, but the story isn't getting legs in the US.

The article I pinged you to was NYT.I am so thankful this ship was found and safely boarded.The Halifax explosion was awful(French ship laden with explosives) and I am reminded of the Texas city disaster.It was a fertilizer laden ship explosion.I can't imagine how many lives were saved by getting it before the explosives could be used.

That's cute... guy claims the stuff is his, wants it back...
Company does not appear to even exist Ship loitered around the Med for 6 weeks...
Ship wasn't on a heading for Sudan or for "mystery company"...
Ship's crew didn't notify the Greeks as required beforehand
Ship's crew did not cooperate with Greeks when they came alongside
