That last line: "Senator. For the good of your party -- and your state -- make the call now," should read: "Senator. For the good of your party -- and The State -- make the call now."

The desperation among 'journalists' is palpable.
To: The Anti-Democrat
Wow that's pretty desperate to be publishing that in a publicly-available newspaper.

Welcome to our local fishwrap here in Columbia,
The Statist. And Lee Bandy, "political columnist" and official Demorat shill. That's pretty typical stuff for Bandy, he never passes up the opportunity to take a shot at the GOP and lionize the Rats.
If Senator Hollings (D-Disney) does run, he will be in for the fight of his life but will probably win--SC has a long record of protecting incumbents (hell, we re-elected Strom when he was 94 and clearly starting to fade). If, on the other hand, Foghorn decides to retire gracefully, the Republicans are probably going to get the seat.

Good point. Hollings is a major league loser and should step down. I'm tired of his rants and raves, which are even more disrespectable on a man of his age. SC needs another rock solid conservative like Lindsay Graham as Senator. This is an excellent pick-up opportunity for the GOP and I really hope Hollings steps down.

Agreed. And I just love that part about Disney! LOL ;)

MESSAGE TO SOUTH CAROLINA (AND OTHER) DEMOCRATS:
Accept defeat and get interested in something else (try golf or stamp collecting).
You have nothing to offer.
The opposition party has everything to offer, and it is lead by the greatest American president since Lincoln and the greatest world statesman since Winston Churchill, surrounded by the smartest, most highly ethical, best educated, most capable, and most visionary advisors in history--and there are many more waiting in the wings.
Face it. You Democrats (and all your decadence and self-serving parasitism) are things of the past (and good riddance).

Foghorn
really is the senator from Disney. He's been in the forefront of screwing over electronics manufacturing companies like Sony and Panasonic (who employ a lot more people in the south than Hollywood ever did) by forcing them to adopt cost raising technologies for no other purpose than contributing to the pockets of established wealthy Hollywood entertainers like Disney.
A case in point: a small take on every blank CD and tape sold goes into a fund to further fuel the power of the entertainment lobby and be distributed to those who need it the least. Thus, an independent artist trying to break into this world by making a demo CD actually has to subsidize the sonzabitches who have a vested interest in keeping them out.

Geez, Savage. You'd think you would at least live up to you handle, instead of softly padding aroud the bush! Hopefully, my inclusion of Southside Chicago inflected adjective will show you the way for your future posting to avoid any milquetoast definitions.

Thanks for the editorial additions, Woof. They do add zing.
Anyway, I thought my rant was downright jugular. Maybe I was mistaken (a rare occurrence).
My beloved mentor was from the slums of Gary, and I thought I had left my milquetoastitude behind in the dust a long time ago. I guess when it comes to savaging the stoopid Dumbocrats you gotta charge the hell right through the friggin' bush and let 'em have it! (How's that?)

You used the term "
STOOPID" correctly.
What I really meant was that I agreed with your post 100 per cent. But after watching Russert mop the floor with Dean, I felt that a little celebration in the form of ribbing your post might be a fun thing to do.

Thanks for posting that whine. It gives me great pleasure to see such public flailing about from the Dems and their sympathizers. The poor bootlicker was clearly *begging* for Fritz to be a Party man, clearly not understanding that the Democratic Party is not about Party (or even ideas) any longer, but about Personality (as in: Cult of).

I know. It's just that I thought I had learned well from my mentor just how to mop the floor, and I wouldn't want him to be disappointed in me. BTW, my mentor could have made Russert look like a milquetoast! I tried to learn from him...

LOL- pathetic. DeMint will win whether old-man Hollings runs again or not. It's sad to see the media disgrace itself with this kind of partisanship.
To: The Anti-Democrat
{state Superintendent of Education Inez Tenenbaum leading the likely Republican nominee, U.S. Rep. Jim DeMint....Tenenbaum did slightly better, winning 45 percent to DeMint's 33 percent}
45% is the most a RAT would receive in SC. Last year, Lindsey Graham (GOP) beat Alex Sanders (RAT) for the US Senate 54-44. Mark Sanford (GOP) knocked off Jim Hodges (RAT) for the Governorship 53-45. I doubt Tenenbaum would be getting anything higher than 45% in a presidential year with Bush being on the top of the ticket. South Carolina has become a hostile place for RATS.

I love how this writer assumes that Democrats winning is automatically good for South Carolina. Seeing as a big majority of SCarolina voted for Bush, does that mean this writer thinks that the voters went against their best interests? Don't answer, I already know.
