Police to check home gun security (Australia)

Due to an increase in break and enter offences involving the theft of guns from private homes, north coast NSW police will be inspecting residences to ensure guns are secure.
Richmond local area command licensing supervisor Sergeant Steve Parry says inspections are not being used as an enforcement initiative, but as an education opportunity for firearms licence holders.
Police will be making arrangements in coming weeks with gun licence holders for a suitable time to inspect firearms.
Sergeant Parry says it is imperative all firearms are secured correctly.
"We are trying to get the message across that guns must be stored in the correct manner, because stolen ones are posing a real threat to the community and to the police," Sergeant Parry said.
Meanwhile, National Party leader Andrew Stoner has dismissed claims that he was criticising police in calling for action to protect sole station officers.
Police Minister John Watkins said the National Party was criticising officers working in sole stations, after Mr Stoner asked him in Parliament how many police would be bashed or threatened before the Government acted.
Mr Stoner says he never criticised police, only the Government for not having a concrete plan to protect them.
He says there are many things the Government could be doing.
"It may be feasible at times of risk to roster another officer on, to have a highway patrol car drive past the station and see that things are okay, to perhaps install an alarm system and or a video camera," Mr Stoner said.

The near end-game of gun storage laws; coming soon to a country near you, if those laws are not opposed.

Stolen Guns? It's the gun owner's fault.
Yeah, that'll work.

What happens if you tell the officer to EFF themself when they appear at your door to 'inspect'? This is chilling. And that is a serious question, if anyone has the answer...

OK people, we want to make sure your guns are stored so securely they could never be available for self-defense. We don't care if you are murdered in your own home as long as your firearms are stored securely. Just to make sure, we're coming into your home to check.(Sheesh!)
Why the moronic Australian people ever allowed this tyranny to proceed is a great mystery. They are damn fools. My mother was Australian but I'm glad I am an American citizen where this nonsense has not yet happened (though not for lack of tyrants having tried).

Didn't he get a couple of them in the process? I think he might have gotten one of them.
If I recall correctly, he was pissed at the gov't for not reimbursing him after they killed some of his livestock under the guise of "protecting the public from diseases".
But I could be wrong.... it's been a long time it since happened.

inspections are not being used as an enforcement initiative, but as an education opportunity for firearms licence holders. "Education opportunities" can cut both ways.
But it's probably too late for the Aussies. They've already succombed to tyrannical gun laws.
