“New Clinton Scandal Mirrors ‘Chinagate,’ Say Analysts”
By Fred Lucas
CNSNews.com Staff Writer
September 03, 2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “(CNSNews.com) - Clinton fundraising flashbacks erupted last week as critics of Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) demanded answers about some of her questionable campaign fundraising, aspects of which mirrored the “China-gate” fundraising scandal that plagued the 1996 Bill Clinton-Al Gore campaign.

Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign has returned money directly donated from a one-time fugitive, Norman Hsu, now in the custody of California authorities. But because she is keeping much of the money he raised for her, along with the history of Clinton fundraising scandals, the issue could linger, analysts say.”

“Blocking ‘The Path to 9/11’”
By Martin Miller
LA Times | 9/6/2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Among the nearly two dozen television DVDs slated for nationwide release on Sept. 11 is the second season of “Bones,” the third season of “Grey’s Anatomy” and the miniseries “The Starter Wife” that aired earlier this year. Not on the list on that day or any other in the near future is last year’s highly controversial “The Path to 9/11.”

The $40-million, five-hour ABC miniseries, which recently received seven Emmy nominations and drew a combined two-night audience of more than 25 million viewers, is for now on the path to nowhere. Its Amazon page reads: “Currently unavailable. We don’t know when or if this item will be back in stock.”

With no date for the release, questions are being raised about whether political pressure is behind its current status as a stalled or discarded DVD project. The reasons are murky, but the miniseries’ writer, Cyrus Nowrasteh, believes it’s crystal clear: Powerful forces are out to protect Bill Clinton’s presidential legacy and shield Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton (D-N.Y.) from any potential collateral damage in her bid for the White House.

Nowrasteh, also one of the miniseries’ many producers, said he was told by a top executive at ABC Studios that “if Hillary weren’t running for president, this wouldn’t be a problem.””

“The HillaryCon on HillaryCare”
By Michael Reagan
FrontPageMagazine.com | Monday, September 24, 2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “Sometimes Hillary Clinton leaves me breathless with the sheer arrogance of her assumption that the American people are like a bunch of straw-chewing rubes eager to buy her latest brand of snake oil.

She introduced her latest excursion into the field of health care in America by assuring us that under her national health care plan people will no longer be denied needed emergency medical services because they lack health insurance.

Hillary knows that the law provides that nobody can be turned away because of their inability to pay for needed medical services — she just hopes the voters don’t know that. She wants them to think that some cruel tyrant stands at the emergency room door barring entrance to the poor and needy.

Illegal immigrants, for example, know what a phony claim that is. They know the law better than most American citizens. The illegals get all the health care they want, because they know the law guarantees those services without them having to pay one red cent for it.

Hillary goes on to assure Americans that health care is a right and not a privilege. Ignoring the fact that rights have no price tag attached – you don’t have to pay to exercise the right of free speech, for example - yet she puts a price tag on the right to have health care at $110 billion a year. That’s what she wants us to pay for the alleged right to health care.”

“Fined group tied to Hillary”
By Jim McElhatton
September 27, 2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: “At least four persons who worked for the America Coming Together (ACT) fundraising group, which the Federal Election Commission recently fined $775,000, work directly for the Clinton campaign or hold top positions with consulting firms hired by it.

In addition, the group’s former president, longtime Clinton aide Harold Ickes, has been identified as a volunteer adviser to the Clinton campaign. In FEC filings, the campaign listed a debt to Mr. Ickes of more than $2,000 for travel-related costs.

Funded with millions of dollars from billionaire George Soros, America Coming Together (ACT) misused about $70 million in “soft money,” uncapped donations that aren’t supposed to be used to urge election or defeat of a candidate, the FEC determined, saying that some of the money was spent on direct-mail and telemarketing efforts aimed against President Bush and Republicans in key battleground states in 2004.”

Editorial
“The Hillary files”

EDITORIAL SNIPPET: “A small fraction of these documents — now public thanks to the watchdog Judicial Watch — shows a wealth of unvarnished information. One 24-page health care memo from Sen. Jay Rockefeller to Mrs. Clinton outlines “attacks” by which the HillaryCare shock troops would advance their message. “Expose lifestyles, tactics and motives of small business lobbyists” is one. Then there are the two “grassroots” approaches of “partisan” and “non-partisan” organization-building, with their respective pros and cons. One “disadvantage” of the nonpartisan approach would be “less central control,” concludes Mr. Rockefeller. No kidding.”
