Good idea, but I'll also admit that mine is an absurd hypothetical brought on by the heighth of absurdity itself, the Canadian ruling. Who knows what these types of laws are going to usher in? I think this is only the start of a full-scale war against religion.
Next will come abortion. Next will come the idea that there is a right and a wrong. The entire concept of religion is at stake here.
Satan's minions on earth are very busy.

Hopefully our First Amendment can withstand this.

Court of the Queen's Bench. Or benchbuttboys courting the queens. How do people get to be judges when they abandon their culture and embrace what culture and religion abhor? What do they wear under those long black dresses, and if not, why not?

This is really rather ridiculous.
I suppose Canada doesn't respect the freedom of fair expression or religon.

I wonder what would happen if I placed an ad in a Canadian paper? hehe If you had the verses printed , nothing, Taking the verses and adding the same graphics as Owens did , ( incidentally the bible is quite specific about not being altered , which is what Owen's ad did by adding the graphics ) , you might have trouble finding a publisher.

I appreciate the sentiment and express my grave concern that a Free Trade of the Americas will seriously affect our ability to rely on our own Constitution, in total disregard for our sister state's laws.
To: adamyoshida
Honestly, we are the last free nation on the planet.
I agree with whoever said we should close our border to Canada, especially considering how they'll let anyone into their crap country, who can then cruise on down into our country through the porous border that is only guarded by about 300 border patrol agents.

You can safely assume you have invented God when God hates the same people you hate.

I haven't heard of this, and I live here, however a lot of us supected that day would come, it was just a matter of time..... no freedom left to lose.

Why do homosexuals think they are so special? They always did think that, we have a gay councillor who thought there should be special harsh laws for gay bashers, I told him we have laws against assult, why would an assult on him be anymore serious than an assult on me, he never did respond.

I suppose Canada doesn't respect the freedom of fair expression or religon. If I am reading this correctly, the court said it can force a "reasonable restriction" on any expression that a politically-connected group finds objectionable. If you take that to its logical conclusion, and you don't have to go very far, then there is NO freedom of expression in Canada. One only has the permission to express whatever the official dogma is at the moment and everything else is or soon will be banned. I always thought that censorship was a particularly bad "hate crime."

This is bad. Once the courts accept the premise that it is "reasonable" to censor speech that someone finds offensive, there will be no end to what will be censored. There are only two possibilities: either you accept that since you are in a free society you have to accept the fact that someone will be free to say something you will find offensive, or you make your opinions become the official dogma and ban all other views. The new twist to the latter option is to ban opposing views in the name of "tolerance." Scratch an idealogue and you will usually find a book burner.

Let us all hope that Canada continues to lean so far left that it induces all of the lefties here to head for their utopia.
My thoughts exactly.

"Do we have an extradition treaty with Canada?"
Forget that, does the US have some way of helping Canadians who want to flee from this oppression?

Did Karl Marx, Lenin, Trotsky, Castro, Stalin or Mao ever write anything derogatory about homosexuals?
Canadian judges might find it difficult to find anything they wrote to be hate speech.

Well I was responding to a specific question, but I think your question has merit. Christians may find it advisable to look south to avoid this nonsense.
I will say folks, as we come into conformity with our neighbors under various agreements, we're going to run smack dab into these issues. And at that time, even if our former neighbors have come to the United States, they may face those issues all over again.
At that time, where do any of us go?

Whoa...I just said this to my husband and looked at your post at same time ! We are living in the last days.

They never respond to that type of question. Look at the premise of hate crime legislation - it violates the equal protection clause in its very form, as it segregates one class of people from another.
For instance, whose life is worth more to a child if a parent is murdered? The father because he may belong to a minority class or the mother because she is a woman?
So now if you protect a class of people because of their sexual proclivities does that mean that biblical references to adultery are also "hate speech?"
To: Snowyman
Yes. Better to shut him up now before he starts proselytizing on a street corner and really upsets some people.
