They never respond to that type of question. Look at the premise of hate crime legislation - it violates the equal protection clause in its very form, as it segregates one class of people from another.
For instance, whose life is worth more to a child if a parent is murdered? The father because he may belong to a minority class or the mother because she is a woman?
So now if you protect a class of people because of their sexual proclivities does that mean that biblical references to adultery are also "hate speech?"

So now if you protect a class of people because of their sexual proclivities does that mean that biblical references to adultery are also "hate speech?"
This opens a whole new can of worms, if gay marriages are allowed, can bigamy and polygamy be far behind.

On this premise; YES!
And so are the admonistions to beastiality, laziness, drunkedness, robbery, rape, murder, incest, etc...
It doesn't even have to be about sexual orientaion, just about a particular group's pet sin.
The world is full of people who want to edit the Bible. Some of them very nice folks, possibly on the fast track to Hell. Pray for them.
