I too have "Red Hunter" in my bookcase.

I have sometimes been disappointed by Buckley and his desire to stay in the mainstream but he has always been up front about McCarthy being right.

I think that was the HUAC ...counsel was Robert Kennedy.That's why I said Hollywood would blame McCarthy...It wouldn't do to associate Robert K with this.

Well perhaps even this memory was manufactured by leftist revisionism. I Googled Joe McCarthy and came up with this pro-McCarthy website and it does not support what I said. It has some other interesting things though. Like this:

1950, February 9 - McCarthy made an electrifying speech at Wheeling, West VA, that he had a list of Communists in the State Department. By July he was a major political force. John F. Kennedy told Harvard students that "he knew Joe pretty well, and he may have something." In February 1952, John Kennedy called McCarthy a "great American patriot." In 1953 Bobby Kennedy joined McCarthy's staff and McCarthy was godfather to Bobby's first child. Bobby was always loyal to Joe.

Thank you. I was off finding my own errors. Even now that I believe Joe McCarthy my memory is still tainted by the propaganda. My parents were Goldwater Republicans and they were the first to tell me that McCarthy was a "witch hunter" back in the 60's.

I hope the pendulum isn't too hard to hold onto for the lefties as it sweeps back to the right./sarcasm

This book will be fantastic! Years ago, before I knew that some democrats are socialists, the code word for communists, I believed that MCarthy was the devil himself. I realize now that is what they intended for us to think and I know why. I can't wait to read this new book by one of the best voices in the conservative movement, Ann Coulter!

....a well thought out, well conceived, well researched, intelligently presented, fearless work that doesn't duck the shots sure to head its way, written by a stunningly beautiful, intelligent, witty, courageous woman.
