Sears' Money Goes to Assist Already Affluent Homosexual Community

(AgapePress) - The largest homosexual advocacy organization in America has received a large financial grant from Sears, Roebuck and Company.

Last week, an article in The Washington Post newspaper confirmed what critics of homosexual advocacy have been saying for nearly a decade: homosexuals are among the most affluent segments of American society. So Peter LaBarbera of the Culture and Family Institute was surprised to find out one of the nation's largest retailers is trying to help homosexuals out with a grant.

Peter LaBarbera "We've learned that Sears Roebuck, the retailer that's so well-known to Americans, has awarded a $200,000 grant to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which is affiliated with the Human Rights Campaign [HRC] -- the largest homosexual pressure group in the United States and probably the world," he says.

LaBarbera feels if there is any group in society that does not need financial help, it is homosexuals. He says without the expenses of rearing families, homosexuals have been able to save enormous cash reserves. But HRC gladly received the grant for a special project to assist homosexual, bisexual, and transgender Americans with home ownership.

He says it is "almost funny ... because I'm sure homosexuals are doing quite well when it comes to owning homes."

'Most Pro-Gay Presidential Field Ever' Meanwhile, a pro-family activist says the Democratic Party has completely given itself over to the "radical gay activist agenda" -- so he is not surprised by a recent report that rated the group of 2004 Democratic presidential hopefuls as "the most pro-gay presidential field ever."

But Robert Knight of the Culture and Family Institute says most Americans are uncomfortable with the Democrats' embrace of the radical homosexual agenda.

Robert Knight "This is a party in decline -- it's in eclipse," he says. "Most Americans are uneasy with this, and yet they feel so bold looking over the border at Canada and what it [has done] that they think Americans are ready to promote homosexuality as something normal and healthy.

"I think they're wrong, and I think the Republicans ought to stand firm on this and give people a reason to see the differences in the parties as being very profound."

According to Knight, the Democratic Party has given itself over fully to "sexual anarchy."

"They've embraced the radical gay activist agenda, right down to gay marriage by another name -- they've backed 'civil unions' -- and most of the candidates backed the rest of the radical homosexual agenda," he says.

The report was put together by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF), which rated the nine announced Democratic candidates on eleven issues it considered important. The NGLTF gave former Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun the highest marks for supporting all eleven of its agenda items, while Senator Bob Graham of Florida was rated as the least "gay-friendly" of the group.

This is a business decision, aimed at generating sales and profits from an affluent demographic group. Sears is doing it for the same reason they sell trampy clothes for adoloescent and pre-adolescent girls, and for the same reason that they discontinued their classic catalog -- it improves the bottom line. And BTW, HRC is the most conservative of the gay activist organizations -- interesting (if true) that it's the largest -- it didn't used to be.

I resent Sears for spending money to advance all of the above,

They are not advancing anything, they are drumming up more business. They can pretend, along with the rest of corporate America, that they are helping out various causes, various people, etc. but all they are in fact doing, is drumming up business. There isn't a large company in America that doesn't do this and pass it off as charity work.

I find it more scandulous that many companies sell goods made in China (you know, that communist nation that over the long haul will be our biggest threat) and that hardly anything is said about it. We are practically funding their long-term buildup

ElkGroveDan - HRC does not "attack our churches, our governing bodies and our family structures..." They work to promote *EQUAL RIGHTS* for the GLBT community. They have become the largest organization representing GLBT people because of their struggles and these folks want the same *rights* that any other law abiding American has!

You are mistaken when you claim "all because of a chosen behavior..." When did you choose to be a heterosexual. Just how much say in the matter did you have? Did you suddenly wake up one morning and proclaim yourself hetero?

Me thinks not. Yes you are right "this is America..." so they have the same rights you have and don't have to go back into any closet or bedroom. And why is it you have to revert to slinging accusations such as "do vile things in private..." or "...teaching filth and perversion..." GLBT people are just like those in your workplace, in your schools and in your churches. They are American's who pay their taxes and abide by the laws. (Heck, they even help make the laws!)

So stop spewing the hate and misunderstanding. A major department store chain gave a donation to a non-profit organization to help further their work. They did not fund the particular one you wanted, but then they don't have to.

I went to their website and found the same dilemma. I would say that if you are a sears customer, using one of their 800 # is the best bet. I think those of you who have credit cards through Sears, your call to cancel your card(followed by a letter, of course) might be one of the more effective ways to get your message to trickle up to the top.

Another option is to complain to the webmaster there's no easy way to lodge complaints about non-website issues.

I just can't see homosexuality as moral filth. Maybe it's the city I live in and the business I'm in and all my gay friends from grad school and college. A very good friend I went to grad school with came out at age 49, after his father died. He had struggled with it and successfully hidden it from all of us all his life, and while he seemed like a happy guy, a little strained, but happy, he wasn't: he was miserable. Now he's living with a wonderful guy and he's like a new person, the person he always really was, happy without the strain, and generous and warm and respected and there's just nothing filthy about him whatsoever. Gay people spend at least part of their life desperately wishing they weren't, and the lucky ones finally give in and accept how they've been wired, and try to be happy. And if part of happiness is having your own home -- it sure is for me and my family -- and that part of the population needs help overcoming prejudice against them in the attaining of that dream -- then I congratulate Sears for helping them out.

You need to get down out of your PR tower and look around. The perverse homosexual movement is all about throwing it in the faces of people who don't care to see it.

Yes they do teach filth and perversion, everytime they force high school kids in AIDS awarenes classes to learn about subjects (so-called alternatives) too sick for me to repeat here.

When did you choose to be a heterosexual. Just how much say in the matter did you have? Did you suddenly wake up one morning and proclaim yourself hetero?

I wake up everymorning heterosexual, as do you and every one of your sadly misguided friends. My body was designed to mate with a woman, that's the way God made me. The issues of sexuality arises about when you engage in specific behaviors. That's when you "become" homosexual.

Its easy to fix too. Quit the aberrant behavior and you'll be as normal as the day you were born.

There is not a drop of hate in my blood. I have heart-breaking compassion for all the lost souls who at some time in their lives were pursuaded into choosing a sad, destructive and sinful life that brings only confusion, sickness and grief. I often pray that they will be able to change their lives and return to normal some day. Many have, it can be done. If that applies to you, then you have my prayers and best wishes too.

BTW, I will find an example of HRC attacking a church, just give me a few minutes.

Actually I meant why does somebody's support for a homosexual advocacy group upset you. Or, better said, what's wrong with homosexuality apart from a Biblical scripture against it, in a chapter which also condemns women to stoning for wearing men's clothes? My wife wears jeans just about every day and I really really do not want to stone her to death whatever it says in the Bible. Who'd make pancakes for me on Sundays?

While this maybe the least liberal(I choke on using the term conservative in relation to this behavior) of the gay activist organizations (I would not know)it still promotes the homosexual, gay and transgender agenda and choices and pushes for them to be endorsed by the government.

Of course, you are right it is a business decision. Now I am making my business decision to not shop Sears.

You are joking right. What RIGHTS are denied these people?
Just as moderate islam is taking it on the chin for the activities of the militant extremists, the GLBT community will be tarnished by the actions of those who do attack churches and family structures. Are you going to deny there has been an effort to harm the Boy Scouts in retalation for not allowing gay leaders?

You don't "become a homosexual" just when you engage in some specific activity. I'm not in any tower, and I don't wear rose colored glasses. I see the world the way it is, and I see homosexual people and I see hetersexual people. I wish I did'nt have to make a distinction between the two "classes" of folks because they all want basically the same thing -- to love, to live & to learn.

It is not filth & pervision to educate anyone -- especially when attempting to stop a disease that knows no bounderies! (It's no longer about gay ghetto drug users -- it's about saving human lives.) Would you feel the same way when your schools start teaching kids how to avoid SARS or West Nile Virus. Again, me thinks not.

You've obviously accepted the dictates and mandates of someone else, and have never openly & honestly communicated with some of your own family and friends -- because I guarantee you -- some of them are gay. But they are probably afraid to be open to you because of the display you put forth.

My 2 cents. I do appreciate the open dialog and cherish your right to your opinion!

It doesn't upset me. I am sitting here "cool as a cucumber" as my mother would say. I have made a business and moral decision based on my values and beliefs.
"Wearing men's clothes" is not listed as an abomination in the Bible and is very dependent on the culture. Some things are not dependent on the culture. Homosexuals are not "born" they are "made". It is a choice. All you have to do is look at the Exodus website to know this. It is a decision. I feel sorry them, but that does not mean I support what they do nor do I support their agenda in changing the definition of marriage or societal norms. Homosexuals undermine the basis of society. If everyone was a homosexual society would cease to exist. Humans would be gone. The human body is not designed for this type of sex even when heterosexuals engage in anal sex it has physical consequences that I will not go into here. I have even had homosexual men tell me that there is nothing loving about anal sex as it is very painful for the receiving partner which women who have been subjected to this can tell you as well.

I agree and as much as I possible can I do not purchase items that say made in China. However the fact that Sears paid our reservists does not mean they will bear the consequences of this decision as well. I supported them when they made that decision and specifically sent them a letter to say so and bought at Sears when I could have purchased elsewhere. Now I will do contact them regarding this decision and will purchase elsewhere because of it. They make the decisions they do for business reasons and I make mine for moral and business reasons.

Craftsman tools are actually made by mainline companies such as ryobi and just have a craftsman label put on them and craftsman shell. Just as the Kenmore appliances are actually made by others such as the washers and dryers are actually Maytag. I am not sure if you can still get this information, but Consumer Reports did reveal it for awhile.
That would be the power tools. I do not know what you will replace the hand tools with. That will be a dilemma for us as well.

For one thing I was not aware of this decision. I have sons who are grown. I do not go into the clothing section of Sears. I haunt the tool and appliance sections. In fact, I absolutely dislike shopping. (I know, you are thinking this is strange for a woman, but you are showing your prejudice.:-) Just a joke.)

Describing "fisting" and "rimming" and other vile behaviors to high school kids in order to promote alternative homosexual "recreation" is indeed filth and perversion.

I have two cures for AIDS that will work to stop its spread EVERY time 1)abstinence 2) heterosexual monogamy

All the other filthy animal behaviors are not only unnecessary they will be the downfall of our civilization.

Please look at Deuteronomy 22:5: "The woman shall not wear that which pertaineth unto a man, neither shall a man put on a woman's garment...for all that do so are abomination unto the Lord thy God." So if my wife wears one of my shirts, or a pair of jeans: abomination. Also, do you eat pork, or shellfish? Do you light fires on the Sabbath? Both pretty heavily advised against in the scripture. And if you think that homosexuals choose what they do -- why would any of them do something that is going to be so much trouble? Why would they bother?
