Sears' Money Goes to Assist Already Affluent Homosexual Community

(AgapePress) - The largest homosexual advocacy organization in America has received a large financial grant from Sears, Roebuck and Company.

Last week, an article in The Washington Post newspaper confirmed what critics of homosexual advocacy have been saying for nearly a decade: homosexuals are among the most affluent segments of American society. So Peter LaBarbera of the Culture and Family Institute was surprised to find out one of the nation's largest retailers is trying to help homosexuals out with a grant.

Peter LaBarbera "We've learned that Sears Roebuck, the retailer that's so well-known to Americans, has awarded a $200,000 grant to the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, which is affiliated with the Human Rights Campaign [HRC] -- the largest homosexual pressure group in the United States and probably the world," he says.

LaBarbera feels if there is any group in society that does not need financial help, it is homosexuals. He says without the expenses of rearing families, homosexuals have been able to save enormous cash reserves. But HRC gladly received the grant for a special project to assist homosexual, bisexual, and transgender Americans with home ownership.

He says it is "almost funny ... because I'm sure homosexuals are doing quite well when it comes to owning homes."

'Most Pro-Gay Presidential Field Ever' Meanwhile, a pro-family activist says the Democratic Party has completely given itself over to the "radical gay activist agenda" -- so he is not surprised by a recent report that rated the group of 2004 Democratic presidential hopefuls as "the most pro-gay presidential field ever."

But Robert Knight of the Culture and Family Institute says most Americans are uncomfortable with the Democrats' embrace of the radical homosexual agenda.

Robert Knight "This is a party in decline -- it's in eclipse," he says. "Most Americans are uneasy with this, and yet they feel so bold looking over the border at Canada and what it [has done] that they think Americans are ready to promote homosexuality as something normal and healthy.

"I think they're wrong, and I think the Republicans ought to stand firm on this and give people a reason to see the differences in the parties as being very profound."

According to Knight, the Democratic Party has given itself over fully to "sexual anarchy."

"They've embraced the radical gay activist agenda, right down to gay marriage by another name -- they've backed 'civil unions' -- and most of the candidates backed the rest of the radical homosexual agenda," he says.

The report was put together by the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force (NGLTF), which rated the nine announced Democratic candidates on eleven issues it considered important. The NGLTF gave former Illinois Senator Carol Moseley Braun the highest marks for supporting all eleven of its agenda items, while Senator Bob Graham of Florida was rated as the least "gay-friendly" of the group.

Is the HRC asking for the end of discrimination and equal rights or are they lobbying for special rights?

I have no problems with the end of persecution and fair practices.

right on.

Sexual orientation: what equipment you CAME with.

Sexual preference: how you free-will choose to use it.

Abstinence: saving it to use it at the right time with the right person--your heterosexual spouse.

I'm sure those who preach 'tolerance' will tolerate my viewpoint.
