If there's any good news to be taken away from this story, it's that D.A. Lynn Abraham has appointed Jude Conroy who has a long and distinguished resume of putting young murderers away for eternity, or assisting them in achieving a "Final Judgment" sooner than they'd probably planned.

Assuming that these four pieces of vermin are tried before "Shameless" McCaffery, there's zero chance of a light slap on the wrist for this monstrous crime.  McCaffery is an ex-Marine, ex-Cop, and, of course, a Republican.  His distinguished track record shows little room for leniency when it comes to animals like these.

Since all of the people involved in this case are white, there won't be any efforts by groups like the NAACP to stay any executions, either.

"He was growing up to be a beautiful man and this is the kind of person they stole from the world."

Absolutely heartbreaking. Fry the bastards.

"We just kept hitting and hitting him," 18-year-old Dominic Coia told detectives. "We took Sweeney's wallet and split up the money, and we partied beyond redemption."

Beyond redemption. What an ironic choice of words.

Dominic, you DO realize that you, as an 18-year old, are almost certainly going to die for this, don't you? You ready to meet Satan for real, naked and by yourself? Enjoy eternity, punk...

Fry the bastards.

After slowly torturing them to the point that they BEG for death.

Then smash their heads in - leaving no bone uncrushed.

Dominic Coia told investigators that in the hours before the slaying, the four teens "must have listened to 'Helter Skelter' about 42 times" - referring to the Beatles song that Manson said inspired him during his followers' 1969 California killing spree.

Good Lord above. The song is about a ROLLER COASTER. Doesn't matter what Freaky Chuck said it was about - perhaps someone should have asked Paul McCartney.

After Sweeney stopped breathing, Dominic Coia told detectives, the four teens engaged in "a group hug. It was like we were all happy with what we did."

Was he high at the time?, detectives asked Dominic Coia.

"No. I was as sober as I am now. It is sick, isn't it?" he responded.

Sheesh.

"This is something out of the Dark Ages... I'm not so sure we can call ourselves a civilized society when stuff like this happens,"

We must always remember that the veneer of civilization is very thin.

The four then divided the $500 take among them - $125 apiece

1...2...3...4

Just counting the seconds until someone remarks that if he was carrying $500 on him he must have been up to something illegal and probably deserved this. Then again, maybe I'm too cynical.

16-year-old Jason Sweeney had $500 pocket money?

Just tidying up loose ends and connecting the dots.

Once again...
As she undressed, three boys sneaked behind Sweeney and beat him in the head and face with a hatchet, a hammer and a brick, police said. The teen, who had just cashed his paycheck from the construction job he worked with his father, was beaten so severely that he was unrecognizable, police said.

I didn't see that in the article, but my point was that it really doesn't matter. I'm sure someone, somewhere is thinking about this though.
