Hit cable television show "The Sopranos" will continue for a sixth season, which will be its last, leaving the HBO show with enough episodes for a very lucrative syndication deal, The New York Times reported on Wednesday, citing "Sopranos" executive producer Brad Grey.

I am keeping HBO around hoping they'll do another "From the Earth to the Moon" or "Band of Brothers" type series, supposedly they have some related mini-series in the works (rumor is they are doing a longer one dealing with fighting in the Pacific during WWII, as well as an USAAF one). Some of the people involved with "Band of Brothers" want to do a Korean War mini-series because nobody has ever really done one, and even the movies about that era were pretty poor. I know some background work was done.
The most interesting show in the BoB series was the last show, where they talked at length to the veterans and their families, went into detail about what happened to them after the war, etc. The Snippets at the end of each show with the veterans were great, but the last show was amazing. I had read the original book and to see the entire mini-series on the screen and the way it was done, was just incredible.

Did you know that Jame's Gandofini's brother "Piker" was the lead singer for "Modern English" ??????I heard the same thing the other day from Jose Feliciano.
Jose's a great golfer, BTW, but he needs a few drinks to loosen up a bit first.

He's hilarious...I also like Jiminy Glick...something funny as hell about that show...he interviewd Mel Brooks and I'm not sure Mel knew he was being put on and he started to get pissed. Funny.

Ali G is the best!

So far I like the 2nd season best. The 1st and 2nd seasons were equally good, imo, and the subsequent ones have gone straight downhill. Last year, with the exception of one or two episodes, was as bad as it gets.

Mrs. CD & I only get HBO while the Sopranos is on the air. As soon as it goes off we cancel. The DirecTV operator is always trying to get us to get Showtime or Cinemax instead! Sounds familiar. I discovered an interesting fact: I had DirecTV turn on HBO just for the recent Dennis Miller special and then turned off the next day. They charged me $.80. Cheaper than Pay Per View! And last week when I arranged to have my bill charged automatically to my credit card each month, they offered me Showtime for a month. I said, No thanks, that I didn't like Showtime's programming. So they gave me $10 off my next bill instead.
