OK, so we drop NATO at the same time we drop the UN. Form a new committee, maybe Responsible and Moral Nations - RMN. Let the UN and NATO dry up from lack of funding...

Is this how the far left and Europeans (that's redundant) hope to accomplish the Francofiliation of NATO?

Hagen also said he thinks it would be difficult for US President George W Bush to oppose Clinton if a majority of European countries want him. Yeah, I see what he's saying. Bush has never stood up to Europe on anything, including Kyoto, the ICC, Iraq, or anything else.

I would be comfortable with BC as head of Club Med. Anything beyond that would be disasterous.
To: yankeedame
This is dumb in general and dumb even for Clinton.
NATO is really a general's club. The civilian component is insignificant.
Clinton is no general.....so it's dumb "in general."
But Clinton is not going to place himself between some politicized generals, either.
No way that Clinton will get anywhere near this.

OMG. I know I am repeating myself a lot tonight, but I am almost through the new book Dereliction of Duty. Anyone reading that would know what a dangerous idea this is! I hope all freepers get a copy of this book, along with First Strike.
To: yankeedame
That would resemble a regular job for Clinton. Do you honestly think boy Clinton could handle a regular job?
BWAHAHAHAHA!
To: yankeedame
Such statements appeal to Clinton's ego. The guy can't stand not being in power. This is a snowball in hell, but it seems to prove that the Clintons are madly bent on a return to power.
