The publishers of Hillary Clinton's "Living History" are living large.
Simon & Schuster told today's Wall Street Journal that the New York senator's memoir of her eight years as First Lady is in the black, just one week after it went on sale.
An estimated 600,000 of the initial 1 million copies of the book have already been sold, the paper reported on its Web site. Clinton received an $8 million advance for the book and will begin earning more once sales reach 1.2 million books.
"We always expected this book to be a success, but we never expected this kind of velocity," said Jack Romanos, the president and chief executive of Simon & Schuster.

S&S's moves sound familiar:
Martha has been indicted not for insider trading but b/c prosecutors have overwhelming evidence that she broke Title 18, Sec. 1505 of the United States Code, which makes it a felony crime to obstruct and impede a lawful investigation by the federal government.
Apparently Martha entered into a conspiracy to hide the truth by lying to investigators from the getgo which is a crime all by itself, even though she may or may not be subsequently charged with insider trading or something else.
Martha and her broker are charged with calculatedly lying to government investigators - repeatedly, continuously and consciously - over a period of at least three months for the express purpose of covering up their actions.
Martha is charged with personally altering company records and colluding in a coverup.
And when Martha went on the CBS morning show and told Jane Clayson and the audience (while chopping cabbage), that there was nothing to worry about, she was actually breaking the law by deceiving her stockholders b/c she failed to alert her stockholders that there indeed was a problem.
Collusion? Cover-up? Lying? Gosh, I hope Hitlery is not a part of this (smirk).

I agree, provided that Amazon doesn't fudge the figures now that they know we are onto them.
We are going to have to look at them very carefully. I suggest also copying the information so that we will have the original figures, before the gnomes start to play with them.
I still wish we could find out for sure where that book was printed. Nicollo found out in a trade publication that Quebecor in Canada had received a large contract for doing S & S's printing. Probably French Canadian, given the name.

I just checked Amazon and the state-by-state figures still have not been refreshed. Since I first checked the stats last Wednesday, they will be refreshed either later today or tomorrow.

I still remember the cabbage-chopping. Heheheh.
I wonder if Martha is even mentioned in Hillary's book. One would think so, since Martha was in charge of the White House decorations at least one year (even had a TV special about it).
I would bet cash money, however, that Martha's presence at the White House went right down the memory hole once the scandal surfaced.

Hmmm...the listing below is from
Publisher's Weekly, the authority in book publishing, for HardCover Non-Fiction through June 16, 2003. Hillary's book didn't even make the list.
Something smells about all the "sales" reports.

Everybody should bookmark this page. We have important evidence here that will come
in handy when the S&S story starts coming apart. Post #22 is a handy guide to the crime.

Does S&S know there are laws prohibiting saying one thing in public when you know the facts to be otherwise in private? We gotta stay on top of this and make sure EXPOSURE takes place when the truth comes out.

Don't despair, never believe anything from the first reports, especially from someone like Simon & Shuster who have a vested interest in Hillary's book, "Living History". Never take anything from a liberal source at face value. Hillary's book is now #3 on the Amazon.com best seller list, having been knocked the #2 spot off twice in one week, first by "Beyond Iraq" and now by "Harry Potter". Looking a bit deeper, Ms. Clinton's book rates only a "paltry" two and one half stars. All of the other books on the Amazon.con top ten listed are either not rated because they have not been published yet, or they hold ratings of four or more stars. Couple that with the fall of Sid Blumenthal's book to #63 on the Amazon.com list, and that indicates Hillary's book has already had its "great" run. A careful observer will note that Sid & Hillary's book have been tied together and one will also note that Amazon.com has already reduced its "two for one" sale price less than one week after Hillary's book went on-sale. My friends, things don't always appear as they are seen or printed! Hillary will tank within the next three to four weeks. It is just a shame that we conservatives could not muster up the support to drive Ann Coulter's new book, "Treason" to to the top of the best seller list last week, but it did reach #10 and that ain't bad for a book not yet in publication! I may be laughed at, but in my humble opinion, Hillary Clinton is toast. This is not political. The vast amount of Americans believe she and her husband Bill are lying all the time, and that includes millions of Democrat Party folks who wish they would just go away! The Democrat Party is in serious trouble and could end as a permanent minority party for many years to come. The first move for them should be to can Terry McAulliffe and silence the Clintons for good!

S&S is owned by Viacom.
Viacom is the company that needs to be turned into the SEC if this turns out to be spin and BS for $enator Hildebea$t.

Yes it did and the character was featured in I believe, three novels, by Stephen Hunter. Great books all, including a few others about BobtheNailer's father, Earl.

That's right! Steven Hunter, and it was a good book! First I'd read that attempted to accurately apply the nomenclature of the shooting world. Good handle, by the way.
