The following is a transcribed excerpt from Fox News Sunday, June 15, 2003.
TONY SNOW, FOX NEWS: Some Democrats on Capitol Hill want to organize hearings around a provocative premise: that President Bush's team might have doctored evidence alleging that Saddam Hussein possessed chemical and biological weapons.

You had to hear her whining, complaining tone of voice, when she was complaining, that "see, our troops weren't even attacked by WMD". It isn't, "thank God" it didn't happen, no, "she is concerned" that it didn't happen. I suppose she would have been happier if thousands of US troops had been killed by Saddam's WMD, then she could have blamed Bush for it. You really just had to hear that shrill voice. She would also had been happier,if Saddam had attacked Israel with WMD.
"But I am concerned, Tony, a lot of the predictions didn't happen. I mean, our troops, as the crossed the berm from Kuwait into Iraq, weren't subject to chemical weapons. No missiles carrying WMD were fired at Israel. We were prepared for that. The intelligence sort of led us there, didn't happen.

Just wanted to let you know, Harman is a member of the House - so you might want a board moderator to change the title. When I first read the headline I thought it must be about a state senator somewhere.

she comes from palos verdes estates, a rich enclave above the working class neighborhoods of the los angeles harbor.
rich californians seem to have the screwiest ideas!

Thanks. You are right, Harmon is in the House, she is a CA Rep. I knew that, I am even familiar with her district, just wasn't paying attention. I copied & pasted the title from FoxNews, check the link, they have it wrong.

I don't see it that way. The way you've punctuated it looks like
Maureen Dowd did it. However, I've not seen the interview but I *can* see where she implied that our troops not being fired on and no missles w/WMD fired on Israel are a good thing.
But here's the largest point, imho, of the whole article:
The Dems have effectively dismantled our Intelligence Agencies. Constant pounding of its credibility will cast a weighty doubt on the data's credulity.
In the Dem's rush to bring down Bush they're doing only what Lenin dreamed of in bringing the down the USA to European standards levels.

You had to hear her. I agree that purely reading the transcript doesn't make it as obious, but listening to her and watching her did. I saw the interview and was outraged, then later I saw the transcript.
Her voice was accusatory, "see, our intel services said we will be attacked by WMD and we weren't", as I said, it wasn't the tone of voice, "thank God, we weren't attacked for whatever reason."
You had to be there.

Isn't she the Democrat leader on the Senate Intelligence committee? That's truly astounding because this woman has a hard time stringing to intelligent sentences together. Her ability to scrutinize cannot be other than non-existant. In an IQ challenge with a brick, it would be neck and next through the first few tests.

She is in the House (FoxNews had title wrong calling her "Sen. Harmon"), but you are right, she is on the House Intelligence committee.
"Elected to a fifth term in 2002, Harman was appointed by the House Democratic leadership to serve as Ranking Member on the Intelligence Committee for the 108th Congress. And at the request of the House Speaker and Minority Leader, she previously helped spearhead all House actions in response to the September 11 attacks as Ranking Member on the panel's Subcommittee on Terrorism and Homeland Security. Harman was also appointed to the new House Select Committee on Homeland Security."

Thanks, it's obvious she's not our Senator. That's Boxer and Feinstien. I let that slip through.

Let me give the viewers a little bit of an explanation of the map you provided. What you are not seeing on the map are the coast lines. The yellow areas include the State's 3-mile coastal zone. Take a look at Santa Catalina Island (the middle yellow blob). Notice that the seaside town of Avalon is not at the edge of the District. That's because you can't see the outline of the island.
There are no towns showing on San Clemente Island. The only people who "live" there are military personnel who are based there from time to time when there is testing going on.

Hopefully I can catch it as a member of Fox's Fan Central.
Truly disappointing if it's as you say and I do agree that only reading the transcript leaves much to be desired.

Isn't she the Democrat leader on the Senate Intelligence committee?Intelligence Committee, yes. Intelligent member of that committee, no. For instance "...first of all, is where is the WMD?" I heard her say that. The WMD? I guess she thinks there's one big ol' weapon of mass destruction they're looking for and just can't fathom why something that large couldn't be located.
We've got one committee still looking into a Bush connection to 9/11 (disguised as an investigation into our security intelligence pre-9/11) and now this committee wants to dig up some dirt on the war in Iraq, turn it into a stinking pile of mud and smear it all over our President.
"Representatives" like Ms. Harmon don't even see the irony of their investigations. What are they going to do when they discover that our intelligence services were emasculated by x42 thus allowing terrorist attacks on U.S. soil? What are they going to do when they discover that Hans Blech and his U.N. ilk delayed the search long enough for more WMD to be carted out of the country thus creating more of a hidden danger?
I wouldn't be surprised if every single Dim's campaign slogan for 2004 is "No More Bush Lies!" Sheepdips.

Ms. Harmon's theory is that since we had intelligence regarding WMD, and none were used against our troops, either the intel was wrong or the administration lied about it.
She completely overlooks the possibility that we obtained solid intelligence and used it to prevent Iraqi WMD attacks.
To: FairOpinion
I would like to know why when we went to Kosovo to save people from genocide, it was noble; yet saving Iraqis from Saddam's murderous reign is not proper? These Dems are such hypocrites. Dems should issue a blanket statement that they disagree with everything Bush does. I fear the hot air they are expelling in their various attempts to smear President Bush could increase global warning (the horror).

she probably does live in venice now.
venice comes in 2 flavors: rich and po'.
the rich have boat slips on the canals. the po' blacks and mexicans don't, but they do have gangs.

"She completely overlooks the possibility that we obtained solid intelligence and used it to prevent Iraqi WMD attacks."
Exactly. If she admitted that, then he would have to put it into a Bush success column and of course Democrats can't stand to do that, regardless of how they have to mangle the truth to turn a success into a failure.
