Great thread Mud..........my two cents on the "de-anything theme.......:o)
If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it
follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted,
cowboys deranged, models deposed (and eventually disfigured)
and dry cleaners depressed?
Laundry workers could decrease, eventually becoming depressed
and depleted! Even more, bedmakers will be debunked, baseball
players will be debased, landscapers will be deflowered, bulldozer
operators will be degraded, organ donors will be delivered, the
BVD company will be debriefed, and even musical composers will
eventually decompose. As a student, I spent all my time wishing
to be detested and degraded.
On a more positive note though, perhaps we can hope someday that politicians
will be devoted.
Stay Safe !

Thanks Squantos, and good to see ya again...did you just come up with that de-stuff?! That's purty good. I believe politicians are "devoted," but mostly only to retaining--and increasing--their own power. I usedta get excited about gettin' the Pubbies in control of both houses of Congress and the presidency 'cuz I figgered we'd actually shrink the Federal Leviathan. LOL...as our Federal budget balloons to over $2.-whatever Trillion, it's becoming apparent that the GOP ain't interested in shrinking the Leviathan either.

Mud, you gots any clever ideas for our signs...I'm having trouble coming up with three....I need age appropriate ones for my two daughters....the 13(almost 14) yo wanted to carry one that said
"In Sex Education I learned that oral sex IS real sex!"
Somehow I just am not sure if that's appropriate for her. LOL

"...ain't much more they can take from me and other honest folks. Then what they gonna do?" It's so screwed up when the top 50% of taxpayers pay 95% of the tax bill. 50% of voting age folks figger why NOT grow government since it ain't comin' out of their pockets. I sincerely believe that folks who receive bennies from the Fed--excluding military--that exceed what they pay in needn't be allowed to vote. I've thought that fer quite awhile, but Walter Williams was subbing fer Limbaugh on FRiday and was talkuing up the idea...if you ain't payin' into the kitty, why should you have a say in how the money's spent?
The thing folks need to realize is that government is by far the least effective way to allocate resources due to the rampant FRaud and abuse and waste inherent in government bureaucracies, so even if you ain't paying taxes directly, the economy takes a hit and hurts them due to decreased opportunity.

My home, autos are paid for, I have money in the bank , a ball mason jar full of gold buried in XXX XXXX XXXX and food on the table but I am still tired of paying for the foreign aid and seeing international welfare handouts when Americans are in need (not me for now).
They are almost at the end of most folks ability to pay and live IMHO. Somethings gotta give and most have already gave.

"any clever ideas for our signs..." I gotta believe Juanita Broaddrick's interview with Hannity is grating on the HildaBeast...something that references the "serial rapist" or "put some ice on it" or something along those lines would be my tact, but I don't know how controversial yer daughters want to get.
Lemme ponder on this a tad...How bout...

Naw...don't have to look, trouble seems to find me.
I've been in trouble all day...I made one *tiny* comment on another thread (washington post article on the DC FReep) that perhaps in Chicago we may not want to wear costumes as our message might be lost in the silliness....Boy was that the wrong thing to say! LOL.
I was just thinking that the place she's signing books is REALLY close to boys' town and if we all came in outlandish costumes we'd really just blend in to the woodwork in that area! LOL *shrugs* Oh well....I'm always in trouble.

I'm TOTALLY behind that Mud....I've long said the "earned income credit" is a crock....people getting back MORE than they paid in?????? I mean, fine, if they are that destitude, give 'em their money back, but NOT mine too!!!!!

Hey guys,
The Moody Blues concert was great!
MB opened with 'Lovely To See You Again', which was very appropriate.
Then 'Tuesday', which was the only song I was a little
disappointed in. The original recording, if you'll recall, had the entire London symphonic orchestra with them, and a keyboard synthesizer just cannot immitate an oboe, or an orchestra.
However, 'Nights in White Satin' was excellant. These
guys are still the singers that they were 30 plus years ago. If one didn't see their graying hair, there was no way of telling that we weren't listening to voices of 25 year old guys!
The (sold out) audience of about 4000, was really into
the music. I had forgotten about the song, 'I'm Just a Singer in a Rock and Roll Band.' They played that too.
They did a tribute to Apollo 1, Challenger, and Columbia, with the song 'Higher'. Last nights' live version was actually better than the original recorded version, IMO.
They had a beautiful young gal with short dark hair, who played the flute, guitar, and sang backup vocals. There was also a pretty blonde gal playing one of the synthesizers.
Their best performed numbers were: 'Higher', 'Isn't Life Strange', 'Ride Like The Wind', and 'Question', which they performed for the encore.
It was an excellant and memorable concert. And I got John Lodges' autograph! ;^)

"bin" had no conscience...to confuse his head.
No soul, no character. "So What?!" the Left said. Great job, MUD !!
"A presidential executive order issued during the Clinton
administration hamstrung the FBI so badly that bureau
lawyers decided it would be illegal to infiltrate Osama bin
Laden's terrorist training camps in Afghanistan, a senior
FBI official during the Clinton administration said Saturday."
(June 1, 2002)

"I don't believe 9-11 happened because of an intelligence breach," Quayle told Fox News Channel's "Hannity & Colmes."
"I think it was really a policy breach. It was the inaction of the previous administration, by and large, that al Qaeda -- and bin Laden in particular -- thought that they could hit the United States, and there would be a retaliation maybe of a cruise missile but nothing more than that," he explained.
The comments make the former vice president, who served under President Bush's father from 1989 to 1993, the highest ranking former U.S. official to suggest that the Clinton administration should get the lion's share of the blame for not preventing the 9-11 attacks.
