Let face it, when deciding what to prepare for that all important favorite Father's Day Holiday meal.... I have taken an informal poll of "real men", verses the modern, shortcut taking, nagging, dieting, wives,.. LOLOL,  and have determined that men would rather have a complete Man Meal, Roasted Turkey with all of the trimmings, 5 to 1, over that ever popular, precooked, warmed over, spiral sliced ham, with those really fancy, creatively placed, canned Pineapple rings with cloves on top, and that really quick, quart of that yummy KFC potato salad, and Safeway Supermarket, DIET Death by Chocolate Torte for desert.. Bwhahhaha so come on mom, lets get started...

With loving memories of my late Irish father, it's a fine corned beef with cabbage and all the trimmings tomorrow. Top 'o the morning to ya, Dad. I love you.

Thanks for the ping, Carlo. And a Happy Father's Day to you and yours. My father a WWI veteran, who fought for the freedom of France and the world, is in Heaven. But I know he is looking down on his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. And just in case no one has already mentioned it. Let us all remember tomorrow as every day, God the Father in Heaven. He has certainly kept my bacon out of the skillet on more than one occasion. But for the grace of God, my bones would be laying in some rice paddy in Viet Nam. Semper Fi

BTW, Carlo, thank you also for posting the recipes. Something my mother use to do before cooking a turkey would be to soak the bird in salted water for hours. I am sure some of the more experienced FReeper cooks either do that or have heard of doing it. And she would toast the bread in the oven before cutting it up for stuffing. Now if anyone could come over to my house and make some chicken and dumplings I would be more than appreciative. LOL
