Quoting Hitler is perfectly valid - I understood that whoever quotes call the other a nazi first loses. ;~) Perhaps you are both correct:
Godwin's Law prov. [Usenet] "As a Usenet discussion grows longer, the probability of a comparison involving Nazis or Hitler approaches one." There is a tradition in many groups that, once this occurs, that thread is over, and whoever mentioned the Nazis has automatically lost whatever argument was in progress. Godwin's Law thus practically guarantees the existence of an upper bound on thread length in those groups.

Good research skills Amelia. I actually tried to look it up before I posted but didn't come across it.
It's a fine line. Hitler was quoted, but not mentioned in the actual conversation as part of the discussion. No person was actually compared to Hitler, so I'm willing to call it "safe".

unfortunately "bad words" and hyperbole often defile a intelligent discussion.
I often quote Hitler in context on education, gun control, humanism, environmentalism and human rights. There is so much to be learned about Modern Fascism from the thoughts and words of Hitler and his stoolies.
I do try to keep from calling names though, I highly doubt anyone on Free Republic want to kill millions of innocents.
