He's been charged with reckless homocide, which I assume carries a substantially lower penalty than any type of murder. The story saves him from being charged with intentionally killing the kid. The stupidness of it makes it believable.

just pinged you to that threadThanks.

I think you're right. The batterer invented a cover story. He flew into a rage over something the "terrible two" did. Neither my kids nor I have ever played a "game" anything like what he described.

Ok, that is just very sick and I don't even want to read any more than your excerts.
What is wrong with the world today????????????

he will never kill another child.I pray so. The thought that he could be back on the streets someday...scary.

It bothers me that we are coming to expect men just naturally beat up on small children that are not their own. We are not lions. Human males do not need to kill the cubs not of their seed. And I don't know any male who would hurt *any* child, related to him or not. This remains sick aberation, not normal male behavior. I know good stepfathers who shelter the children they have taken in, even go to great lengths and great personal inconvenience to do the best thing for their stepchildren.
PLEASE do not normalize this. It is not normal. Women DO need to protect their children better than they often do, but it is not yet to the point where it is always irresponsible to leave children in an unrelated man's care! Many, many men become daddies to children they didn't sire, and do good, not harm.

Got into some bad cheese.

I'm not buying his story. I think this is a case of abuse plain and simple. He's just trying to find a way out of the charges.

I vote he gets 10 rounds in the ring with Mike Tyson as his punishment. But he has to kick Tyson in the nuts before the match. I vote he gets 10 years in a cell with Mike Tyson as his punishment. But he has to claim to be Tyson's girlfriend before being locked up.

Thanks, Chemist!
My son's biological father openly admits he couldn't handle being a full time father. He still loves his son, but knows he can't raise him properly and would NEVER hurt him. I thank God for my son's "step-daddy" (direct quote from said son).
My husband fell in love with my 2 year old (age at the time) before he fell in love with me. (I think!) I'm very proud of my husband for not voicing his opinion of the biological father in my son's presence.
Having parents that divorced in my infancy, I can honestly tell you that I would NOT have a relationship with my own mother (my choice) if she hadn't married such a great man.
Now I'm off to the UPS store to mail Dad (Grandpa), and Stepdad's (Grandpa Jay) gifts!

When it comes out, the story will reveal that the man was p.o.'d that he had to change a poopy diaper and struck the baby, killing him. Another baby dies at the hands of a step-male-something-or-other.

He has already admitted to hitting the baby "as hard as he could". Personally, if I were the DA I would seek 1st degree murder charges.

Did he hit his own kids that hard as toddlers? I'm having trouble deciding if the guy is a moron or a jerk or both.

"Why do we not leave our two year old in the care of a grown man who is not his father, grandfather or uncle?????"
Some women just have no other choice. I'm glad I get to stay home with my kids, especially hearing stuff like this where you can't even trust a close family friend.
