THE BOGUS DAVIS RECALL PETITION EXISTS! (I know because I caught one)
A PERSONAL EXPERIENCE!

When I first heard that there was a bogus recall petition being circulated in an effort to confuse and derail the Davis Recall effort, I thought that this was merely a story being circulated by Conservatives to light a fire under the butts of people wishing Gray Davis could be taken out of office. It just seemed way too odd to me that people would actually commit election fraud in an effort to stop the movement.
That all changed today when I stopped at a Target in Irvine, CA and saw a petition table for the Recall. I decided to read the small print before I signed.
AND IT WAS A BOGUS PETITION! It first started with official enough looking language with the header RECALL PETITION. But when you got to the second paragraph of the Petition language, the petition stated that the recall movement was a waste of time and resources and a right wing attempt to get rid of the rightfully elected governor!
I was astounded. When I pointed out to the collector that he and his group was violating state election laws, he became combative. I told him I was merely pointing out he was participating in perpetrating a fraud on voters and that I was going to call the store manager to have a look for himself.
Guys, he got out of there faster than a human shield out of Baghdad before the war!
So, in the end, the bogus recall effort DOES EXIST!

It DOES exist! These people are committing fraud and it needs to be stopped. So READ THE FINE PRINT before you sign ANY Recall petition!

Let John and Ken of KFI fame know. That had talked about this on their radio show a few days ago.

Next time you see one of these:
1. Take pictures of his petition table.
2. Tell him you want to sign--get him to give you a petition with as many names as possible on it--and then take the petition.
He won't chase you very far if he has a table that he has to attend.
Find the closest store with a copy machine and make a copy of the phony petition. Keep the copy, give the original petition back to the people circulating it (wouldn't want to be accused of theft).
At least you now have absolute proof of fraud--take it to the State.

Thanks for posting this. I didn't know about the forgery. Sounds like something coming out of the Garry South/Bob Mullholland dirty tricks dungeon.

The real petition does contain a paragraph with the opposing viewpoint. It does state that the recall efort is a waste of time and we are trying to remove the duely elected Governor. This is only the opposing viewpoint, just as the many propositions on the ballot have both the pros and cons. I had the same misgivings when I first started reading the petition. I have gone to two different websites and downloaded the recall petition. They both contain the paragraph poo pooing the recall. The web sites are: www.rescuecalifornia.com and www.davisrecall.com

THIS WAS NOT THAT PETITION. There was no mention of a so-called oppossing viewpoint.
This is the bogus petition.

You should have kept quiet... and then called the police. But darn, that is really weird.

There is a movement to recall Gov Davis by a Republican congressman from Vista, CA named Darrell Issa. He is interested in becoming Gov of CA and using his own money to get this recall off the ground. He is also of Lebonese descent and has gone to the mid-east on junkets to talk to leaders there. He is a self made millionaire in the car security business. He is handsome and articulate but, I am still leery of his motives. He is serving his 2nd term in the House. If we had a choice between Arnold and Darrell Issa, I am sure Rep Issa will win. But, I would like to know more about his motives.....BTW would Arnold make a good Governor of CA? I kind of doubt it. He has a lot of baggage to carry around for opponents to dig up ...like the rumor he is a womanizer.

Unfortunately, that would still be theft, I think. (you would easily beat the charges, but they could sue you just to harass you)

Where?

Thanks for posting! And well done on calling that guy on his sleazy petition. BTW, I'll bet Target has surveillance cam footage of the guy if anyone in authority wants to find out more about this guy.

The recall of Davis is anything but a waste of time. It even serves warning to others that if they do not act truely for the people; they could be axed too. We, the people, are not taking it anymore.

They do state it isnt a recall petition. Being politically astute I know that petitions need the county of registration so they can be tallied. These petitions are a statement of opinion from the people of California. Nothing more and nothing less.

THat may be true, but it also serves to discourage people from signing the REAL petition.
And when it says RECALL PETITION on the head it of, it's nothing short of FRAUDULENT.
To: MattGarrett
So why didn't you produce a large amount of bile and project it with your lunch on the petition and the Davis plant?

I read somewhere today that we already have over 600,000 signatures; and that we should have all we need by July 4. Does anybody know the current count?
