Looked to me like the camera was slightly out of focus. That's done, you know, to give older women more of a "dewy", youthful look. Or maybe the lights were slightly softened. Just looked a little out of focus.

They use a soft focus lens and excellent lighting. It flattens out the wrinkles. Barbara Walters uses it exclusively. Sometimes you can really tell that Walter's has it on and her guest has regular focus.

I watched Baba Wawa, in some of the interview settings she (the beast) looked pretty good. In others (the ones outside) she & Baba both looked like wrinkled old crones. Remember, good lighting is our friend!
