I had the oportunity to meet and shake hands with Colin Powell, Lauren Bacall and Martin Luther King Sr. at their book signings. All of these were good experiences. I wouldn't get within a mile of the Rat from Arkansas.

Really? I've been to two book signings (Tom Clancy near the Sub Base in Ct- a total madhouse; and Don and Fred Imus at Mohegan Sun Casino)and both times the authors were writing so frantically that I felt like I was intruding to offer a personal comment.

We did take a couple of pictures of Tom Clancy- and then promptly lost the film :(

Seems to me shaking hands in a receiving line is much more personal. Odd that Hillary! would do that.

With Colin Powell we were able to talk to his front man and give him a special set of BDU's (battle dress uniform) my husband disigned. Within a week we received a personal hand written note from Mr. Colin Powell thanking us for the outfit and telling us how he enjoyed wearing them while working on his vintage car. We did get to shake his hand and at least say hello.

I forgot to mention I also went to a book signing by Octavia E. Butler who writes very interesting sience fiction books. She signed four of my paper backs and spent a few minutes chatting with my husband and I. Yeah it was a small signing but very enjoyable being able to spend time actually getting to know an author who's work you really enjoy.

I wonder if Hillary's signing will be like cattle moving through an assembly line. We'll see. Shake the hand move along, move along, quickly now
