Big bump for Al!

Let's hope he goes third party in 2004 (and beyond).

Talk about the worst doomsday scenario in the Democrat playbook!

Interesting that physicians would be so concerned with gun violence, when far, far more people die due to physicans' mistakes every year.

I read somewhere that most of the physicans in this group were never practicing physicians. They have PhD's in medical research or somesuch, but they never actually practiced medicine on actual human beings.

I'll see if I can dig up the link.

This is GREAT. The Bolsheviks and Mensheviks are at each others' throats. Let us hope they'll soon start a shooting war among the two camps.

This time, We can recognize the Marxists/Stalinists/Granola Liberals @ worK, on the Boob Tube...w/o the soviet shills @ ABCNNBCBS... :)

Actually, late night public transportation in DC is very safe.

Look, I'm an ex-prosecutor in this city. I well know there are many parts that aren't safe. But public transportation on most of the metro lines is very safe -- the Metro (subway) as its own police force.

"Busy" means safe in the sense that armed robberies -- which is the only type of personal crime that you'd have in any numbers in that part of the city -- is unlikely to occur on a busy street. That said, urban crime CAN happy anywhere, anytime. But DC earns the title murder capital for the murders that occur in neighborhoods which are far from Georgetown -- in neighborhoods underinvested in by a public school system designed to fatten the wallets of corrupt officials and contractors rather than educating the children.

You never met a city that needed school vouchers as much as DC

Make that Atlanta. Seriously. A study was done indicating that Atlanta City spends over $10,000 per student as compared to other cities such as Chicago and New York who spend around $7,000 - and the School Board members are still crying poor-mouth! Atlanta ranks consistently high in drop-out rates and low in SAT test scores. Meanwhile the same freaks-of-nature complaining about needing more money drive Mercedes's, Jags, Beemers and wear more gold jewelry than Mr. T!

Look, I'm an ex-prosecutor in this city.

I respect that. As much as I respect what you're telling me. I mean that. However, as the mother of a child who refuses to believe that there are really *bad people* out there and thinks I'm a nut for carrying concealed, I worry. She could have taken a position 2 minutes from where they moved to in Fairfax, but chooses to commute an hour to "rub shoulders with the rich and famous." I just hope her guardian angel puts in some serious overtime!

:-)

"We are going to turn this country around within one year, and we are going to have peace and security on different terms," said Bob Musil, executive director of Physicians for Social Responsibility.

These nuts are deluded.

Well, I will give you this. The fact that she's young, female, and slight -- especially the slight -- makes her a better target of opportunity than someone with, ahem, more meat on their bones like me. I've never had anyone bug me.

Also, even though I know the crime stats for my part of the city are low, I'm very careful and cautious -- because I know how horrible crimes will be.

The things that you say that give me pause are her care-free attitude and her slight build. Those aren't positives. Well, the fact remains, if she's careless (or not) and becomes a victim, changes are very good in that part of the city the crime will be a no-injury armed robbery. Stastically speaking.

The Democrats are going to swing left on this. It's gonna make the loony core base of DU-types giggle with glee, but it's going to lose the other 78% of Americans. Count on the Democrats to lose big in 2004 and 2006, and hopefully we'll have a supermajority in the Senate and 6 costitutionalists in the Supreme Court by 2008.

Does progressive American = Communist pig now? these people switch sides more than a gulf oil sign !

Not sides but names. "Communist" was no longer an acceptable term, so they took "socialist" which also fell in disfavor, so they grabbed "liberal", "liberal" is too broad, so they grabbed "progressive"....next on the list is your guess.

....and they claim 1984 is a foretelling of the Bush Adminsitration. LOL!

Spoken like a true mathmetician! LOL!

Now if I could just substitute logic for maternal emotions....and talk some sense into her about protecting herself....although she does carry pepper spray.

But I don't think anyone is ever going to top Arafat snapping at Christiane Amanpour to "BE QUIET!!"

That interview was one of my all time favorites: "You must be accurately when you are addressing General Arafat! Bye-Bye!"

Seriously, I've been thinking that the democraps, as the party of the special interests, would have to collapse at some point under the weight of trying to support multiple groups with natural antipathies toward each other. For example, the best thing they could do for blacks is to support education vouchers but they can't do that without losing the NEA.

Internet, Talk Radio, and FNC are accelerating the left's collapse. The recent admissions by CNN, the New York Times, and one other liberal organ that escapes me at the moment, that their reporting is tainted and often made up out of whole cloth, should speed the decline even further.

It's a great time to be a neo-con!

Interesting alright. I would certainly think and hope that folks with that much education would have higher ethics as well. Well, I suppose not. Of course, I also would think that folks that have higher incomes and that hire employees would see the stimulus effect of tax cuts. I guess some folks have more $$ than sense though ! < /bad humor >

I go to DC often..it isn't the nicest place in the world, but if you're careful it isn't that bad. I even drive through the bad parts in my redneckmobile, and I'ver never been bothered at all.

The left wing has chosen to resurrect the term "Progressive" even though it was a codeword used by Stalinists in the 1950-60s to describe Western fellow- travellers. Today, as then: progressive = Marxist.

"Joseph Lieberman is a Trojan Horse for the Republican Party, and John Kerry is a warmonger, and he's from Massachusetts, so he'll never win," Chabat asserted. "Dick Gephardt is the biggest loser that the Democratic Party has had in the last 50 years."

I think Dukakis would argue with you on that last point since Gephardt never got the chance to lose 49 states.
