Arafat criticizes Mideast peace summit

JERUSALEM - Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat, who was kept from a U.S.-sponsored Mideast summit in Jordan, criticized the gathering and said Thursday that the Palestinians emerged without achievements.

Arafat said Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas failed to win real commitments from Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon at Wednesday's summit in the Red Sea resort of Aqaba.

"Unfortunately, the Israelis did not give anything. What does it mean to move a trailer here or there?" Arafat said, referring to Israeli outposts.

I think arasplat would rather use some of his kiddie homibombers to take care of the trailers.

This is the first truly credible news that the summit was a success: Arafat's pissed!

This can only mean that Bush's strategery is working. If Arafat had as much control as he would like us all to believe, he would have kept his mouth shut.

First, he says he is running things, then he complains because his deputy did not say the things he wanted him to say. All the more reason to think that Bush has moved Arafat aside, against all the comments saying it was impossible.
