Sammy Sosa was ejected in the bottom of the first inning of tonight's Cubs/Devil Rays game after the umpire found cork in his broken bat.

Good grief. You jump to a interesting conclution.
The home plate umpire is the same ump who was involved in the George Brett pine tar bat too. He was overruled there, don't be surprised if this is nothing too.
