The French are coming!
A Freeper friend of mine has invited a professional French documentary videographer to the Bay Area. They will be filming and producing a documentary to be shown on local French TV. The scope of the film is to show the French people an unfiltered view of what many Americans think of the current situation between the two countries and the political leadership there, as well as in the USA. And a Freeper will have co-editorial control of the final cut!
We want candid, from the heart comments about the French. i.e. "You may think we're cowboys, but we think you're cowards". Or, bring a list of French products you are Boycotting; hold it up to the camera and pledge, that you'll never buy another French product again. Or whatever.
They will be filming in the East Bay and perhaps SF around July 6-13. For example the 4th of July parade in Danville may be in the film. One idea is to have a group of Freepers sitting on a bench, 60-minuet style...letting it all out. Others will be interviewed one-on one for a man on the street format.
At the same time, the French videographer is our guest and we will have plenty of beers and handshakes after/during the filming. Feel free to piss on the French flag during filming if you want, but remember, you'll be drinking with the cameraman later!
Wanna be involved? You don't need to speak French to be involved, as we have a translator. So much the better if you do speak some French.
Freepmail me with your contact info if you want to be a TV star.*

Take them to North Beach so they can see Jack Chiraq's counterparts in action.

I guess I don't feel like San Francisco is the place to get a fair consensus.

- The English play tennis on a lawn in a quaint aristocratic suburb.
- The Americans play tennis on a modern, low-maintenance surface in their largest city.
- The French play tennis in the mud.

I guess I don't feel like San Francisco is the place to get a fair consensus. The contrast of SF locals slamming France will have some impact and irony.
Also, think Bay Area Freepers will express their views that will represent the majority of the issues we read here. To be totally safe, feel free to fly in if you want.

It reads, "You don't need to speak French to be involved," Add "We'll overdub what we want you to say".

A French documentary, in SF, depicting what Americans think of French/American relationships? Really? How about what SF Americans think about Americans. That would be interesting in itself.

Yikes! I've never been there, and from the way I hear things are there now with the homeless defiling the streets, I doubt I'll be visiting any time in the near future.

"We'll overdub what we want you to say". LOL...depending on the commercial quality of the film they *MAY* do an edit and see if PBS will air it in the US. Conservates in SF insulting the French...yeah like PBS will ever fund that!

If I wanted to get American opinions on anything, it wouldn't be in SF. PBS would fund it with the original "it's the oil" "no blood for oil" whining that most of the SF protestor types will spew for the cameras.
