Al Qaeda terrorists and related groups are set to use chemical, biological and nuclear weapons in deadly strikes, according to a new CIA report.
"Al Qaeda's goal is the use of [chemical, biological, radiological or nuclear weapons] to cause mass casualties," the CIA stated in an internal report produced last month.

Did anyone expect any lesser goal for Al Qaeda? That's what terrorists do.

Please forgive me when I say "bring it, don't sing it.". It would be the dumbest thing any terrorist could do. "Islam; Muslim" would be known in history as "Got the meanest ass whoopin the likes of which history has never seen."

Might be a credible threat or it might not. I'll wait to see a New York Times/CBS poll before making up my mind.

No doubt as to their goal, but much doubt as to their ability. Their desire to attack the USA is evident, so if they have these weapons, you would think they would have used them. They don't seem to be able to do much of anything inside the US these days: their recent attacks have been abroad and have killed far more muslims than Americans. If the CIA is really worried about such an attack, why was the threat level lowered back to yellow?

The article states the obvious and what has been known and said since 9/11. Why is it news? Plus, the headline is misleading. Nucs has been and will be nuclear weapons. But reading the article, it will be small scale stuff. Nucs are not small scale. And a dirty bomb is not a nuclear weapon. Radiological but not nuclear, which implies a nuclear, not conventional reaction.
So, in essence, we learn that they intend to do what they have already been doing. I guess the press has to write something every day, even when there is nothing to write.
I miss seeing "quagmire", but I am sure it is going to come back.

This is the story that had Drudge doing Sirens last night? Come on, this crap has been known since 9-11. Of course AQ wants to do this, and has people who would carry it out.
Meanwhile, Man bites Dog!
