I won't let my kids see this film for 2 reasons:

1. Ellen

2. DeGeneres

She's a cartoon fish, for crying out loud!

Ellen DeGeneress is just doing a voice. There is nothing about her character to be offended about. The clips I've seen are very funny (if you get to see it, remember, "Oh look, krill"). She brings no baggage to the film itself. Your kids shouldn't have a clue who she is.

They won't know unless you tell them.

Why would you want to tell them?

If you are upset about homosexuals making their sexuality an issue, why would you then not take the kids to see a Disney/Pixar movie, where the issue of homosexuality does not exist then introduce the issue, doing basically what you are upset at the homosexuals about, and negatively impacting your kids?

I took my kids today, I did not know that it was DeGeneres's voice coming out of the speakers, it was a funny, forgetful little blue fish, which was more real to my kids than an entire "gay" issue that they don't know a thing about.

Ten years from now, when one of your kids asks you why you never took them to see that movie, will you tell them that it was because the voice of the little blue fish was recorded by a homo?

Take the kids to see the movie, it's a great movie.

Normally I would agree with you...I do think I hate Rosie Odonnell worse than Ellen though.

Don't let that stop you, it's a very cute well done movie. I took my kids and their friends to see it this wknd - the place was packed full of laughing kids and their parents.

it was a really entertaining film - for both age groups.

I have to tell you Ellen did a good job with her voice for that fish...it's a confused/forgetful fish and you know that was her funny schtick when she first was on tv ....

I really recommend the movie, it's good enough to get past Ellen et al
