EDISON, May 30 - Douglas R. Forrester wants to help shape the future of the state. He's just not sure how he wants to accomplish it.
During a taping of News 12 New Jersey's Power and Politics Friday, the 2002 Republican candidate for United States Senator said it's too early to say if he'll be a candidate for governor in 2005, but refused to rule out the possibility.

"Forrester won't say he's running for Governor, but won't rule it out either."How many times have we heard this line before? Politicians are nothing if not predictible.

We need to wrest control of the NJ GOP from the RINOs. I might be somewhat forgiving of Forrester who DESERVED to win the Senate seat last year, but cozying up to Whitman who was a dreadful Governor doesn't look good. I remain a solid Bret Schundler supporter for a rematch with McGreedy.

And let me guess... when he loses again it will be Bush's fault for that second loss too...

Bush's appearing on behalf of Schundler could've helped make the race closer, though it wouldn't have put him over the top. The RINO establishment led by crooked Gov. Donnie DiFrancesco destroyed Schundler's candidacy deliberately. No non-establishment Conservative figure has won the Governorship of NJ since Democrat Charles Edison in 1941.

Forrester would be terrible candidate and a bad
governor he is a RINO and dull.

"Forrester would be terrible candidate and a bad governor he is a RINO and dull."
Dull as long as they are competent is OK, but he's seeking to link himself to the corrupt RINO establishment (which is practically indistinguishable from the 'Rats in ideology or ethics), and that is why I couldn't support him. It's too bad he had the NJ Supremo Corruptos steal the Senate election from him, he might've made a fairly acceptable Senator.

I think Shundler might actually have a shot at it this time around. He left McGreedy to his own devices for a few years and look what's happened. The state's collapsing in upon itself as a result of McGreedy's fiscal mismanagement and corruption.

I agree, Schundler will have a much better chance in 2005. He has been proven correct about everything he said about McGreevey during the 2001 campaign.

I find it funny how snowballed most are. Doug isn't a conservative. He played one in politics. Doug now, is raising money through a PAC he created to help social moderate women win races.
I would love to see a debate between mcsleazy and the "new and improved Doug". "Well Mr. McGreevey, I agree with you". "And MR. Forrester, I agree with you".
Frankly, if we are going to elect a liberal, let's go all the way and re-elect McGreevey. He will piss more people off and then a real Republican (conservative) can take office. Either that or vote for Schundler!
Forrester was the liberal conservative. If your group was liberal, so was he. If your group was conservative, so was he. He played both sides against the middle, and it bit him in the backside.
With Schundler, you know where you stand. Although I don't like some of those working for him, to effect the most change in Trenton, he is the best bet.

Thanks for pointing that out. I know many true conservatives could and did see the truth. I was lambasted by a couple of NJ Freepers who actually thought that by me posting some of his liberal views on the NJ board that I was going to lose the election for him as if most unaffiliated NJ voters actually read our NJ forum, LOL. He really messed up with the life issue by playing both ends against the middle or should I say by lying to the NJ RTL. Hey, just like any republican, I wanted him to win and put up lawn signs in town, anybody is better than the torch or the louse, but don't insult conservatives and pro lifers and pro gun rights people by saying that Forrester is a conservative or just like Bret. Forrester did NOT support Bret and is now considering running against him.
Why Doug Forrester LOST and LOST Badly!
